Many WNBA players come from athletic families. Some of the league’s top players, including Angel Reese, have parents or siblings who have played professional basketball.
Here, we take a look at 10 WNBA players (past and present) whose siblings have played in the NBA.
#1 Angel Reese – Julian Reese
Atlanta Dream star Angel Reese has dominated the WNBA with her rebounding. During the 2025-26 season, her younger brother Julian Reese made a similar impact in the NBA.
Julian appeared in 13 games for the Washington Wizards, averaging 11.8 points and 10.5 rebounds. In his third game, he posted 18 points and 20 rebounds against the Utah Jazz.
Julian and Angel became the first brother-sister duo to each have a 20-rebound game.
The Denver Nuggets acquired Julian via trade this offseason, but released him shortly afterward. He’s currently a free agent.
#2 Nia Coffey – Amir Coffey
Nia Brodie, formerly Coffey, is the daughter of former NBA player Richard Coffey, who played for the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Nia has a brother, Amir Coffey, who played in the NBA for seven years. His most recent NBA stint was with the Phoenix Suns in the 2025-26 season, where he appeared in 16 games.
#3 Te’a Cooper – Sharife Cooper
Former Baylor guard Te’a Cooper last played in the WNBA in 2021 for the LA Sparks. She has bounced around overseas to keep her career going.
Her younger brother, Sharife Cooper, was drafted by the Atlanta Hawks in 2021. After his rookie year, he spent the next two seasons in the G League. His most recent NBA stint came with the Washington Wizards during the 2025–26 season.
#4 Candace Parker – Anthony Parker
Candace Parker established herself as one of the greatest WNBA players of all time. She is a three-time champion, two-time MVP, seven-time All-Star and a Hall of Famer.
Her brother, Anthony Parker, did not enjoy as much success in the NBA.
Anthony was mostly a role player for the Philadelphia 76ers, Orlando Magic, Toronto Raptors and Cleveland Cavaliers. He retired from professional basketball in 2012 after nine seasons.
#5 Mfon Udoka – Ime Udoka
Mfon Udoka had a brief WNBA career that started in 1998. Originally with the Detroit Shock, she spent four seasons away from basketball to recover from an ACL tear and pursue her degree. She relaunched her WNBA career in 2003 with the Houston Comets and joined the LA Sparks a year later.
Her brother, Ime Udoka, played for seven years in the NBA before transitioning to coaching. He is the coach of the Houston Rockets.
#6 Megan McConnell – TJ McConnell
Megan McConnell followed in her older brother TJ McConnell’s footsteps and pursued a professional basketball career. She began her WNBA journey with the Phoenix Mercury in 2025 but only appeared in one game.
TJ, meanwhile, has been in the NBA for 11 seasons. He plays for the Indiana Pacers after joining them in 2019.
#7 Elizabeth Williams – Mark Williams
Elizabeth Williams has played in the WNBA since 2015 and has built a respectable career. She is a one-time All-Star and won the Most Improved Player award in her second year.
Her younger brother, Mark Williams, turned pro after two college seasons at Duke. The Charlotte Hornets drafted him in 2022, and he played for the franchise for three years.
Mark is currently the starting center for the Phoenix Suns.
#8 Imani McGee-Stafford – JaVale McGee
Imani McGee-Stafford is not the only basketball player in her family. She’s the daughter of Pamela McGee, a USC legend. Pamela played in the WNBA for the LA Sparks and the Sacramento Monarchs, and is also an Olympic gold medalist.
Imani is the younger half-sister of former NBA player JaVale McGee. JaVale is a three-time champion and an Olympic gold medalist.
#9 Marta Fernandez – Rudy Fernandez
Marta Fernandez only played one season in the WNBA. In the 2007 season, she appeared in 34 games for the LA Sparks, averaging 8.7 points, 2.1 rebounds and 3.0 assists.
Her younger brother, Rudy Fernandez, played four seasons in the NBA, three with the Portland Trail Blazers and one with the Denver Nuggets. In 2009, he participated in the Slam Dunk Contest and the Three-Point Shootout during All-Star Weekend.
He averaged 9.1 points, 2.4 rebounds and 2.2 assists in the NBA.
#10 Gabriela Jaquez – Jaime Jaquez Jr.
Gabriela Jaquez has made a solid start to her WNBA career. She has appeared in 37 games for the Chicago Sky, averaging 6.8 points and 2.9 rebounds.
Her brother, Jaime Jaquez Jr., has been a constant source of support since she was drafted with the No. 5 pick.
“She has always looked for the hardest challenge possible, and she was never afraid. So that’s why I know she was ready for this moment,” Jaime told SportsIsh.
Jaime played his first three seasons with the Miami Heat before getting traded to the Milwaukee Bucks in the offseason.
