It’s the most wonderful time of the year as college football’s postseason kicks off in earnest this evening with 34 bowls and 11 College Football Playoff games scheduled over the next 34 days, culminating with the national championship at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens on Jan. 19.
With that, we’ve put together a four-part preview that will show every uniform matchup, jersey patch and field design that will be used the postseason. We’ll continue to update the list as teams reveal their wardrobes in the days leading up to their respective games.
Parts two and three will be posted ahead of the quarterfinal and semifinal rounds, while the final piece of our postseason preview will highlight the previous meetings and championship game appearances of the title game opponents. Now, let’s dive into this week’s slate…

The Huskies wore their standard home uniforms of gold helmets, purple jerseys and gold pants against the Broncos, who wore blue helmets with white jerseys and pants at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, home of the NFL’s Los Angeles Chargers and Los Angeles Rams.

Jacksonville State 17, Troy 13
The Gamecocks wore their standard red helmets, red jerseys and white pants against the Trojans, who were outfitted in white helmets with an American flag motif in their script “Troy” decals, white road jerseys and white pants in Montgomery.

StaffDNA Cure Bowl
ODU 24, USF 10
The Bulls wore their standard gold helmets with their green home jerseys and pants, while the Monarchs donned their all-white road uniforms with pink decals on their helmets and pink accessories during Wednesday night’s game in Orlando.
68 Ventures Bowl
Delaware 20, Louisiana 13
The Blue Hens wore their usual winged helmets with their blue home jerseys and gold pants against the Ragin’ Cajuns, who were outfitted in vermilion helmets, white jerseys and vermilion pants in Mobile.
Dec. 18
Xbox Bowl
Arkansas State 34, Missouri State 28
The Red Wolves wore all-black while the Bears were outfitted in all-white in the inaugural Xbox Bowl, which was played at the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas, the practice facility of the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys. It replaced the Bahamas Bowl, which was played during the 2014-19, 2021-22 and 2024 seasons.

Western Michigan 41, Kennesaw State 6
The Owls wore their go-to road look of black helmets, white jerseys and black pants against the Broncos, who wore wear white helmets, gold jerseys and gold pants against the teal turf at Coastal Carolina.
Union Home Mortgage Gasparilla Bowl
N.C. State 31, Memphis 7
The Tigers wore their blue helmets, white jerseys and blue pants against the Wolfpack, who were in white helmets, red jerseys and white pants in the first-ever meeting between the schools, which took place at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, home of the NFL’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

First Round – Norman, Oklahoma

The Crimson Tide wore their traditional road look of crimson helmets with white jerseys and pants, while the Sooners countered with their standard home look of crimson helmets, crimson home jerseys and white pants, flipping the script from their regular-season matchup in Tuscaloosa.

Miami 10, Texas A&M 3
The Hurricanes were outfitted in their all-white road uniforms while the Aggies wore their standard home look of maroon helmets and jerseys with white pants at Kyle Field.
First Round – Oxford, Mississippi
Ole Miss 41, Tulane 10
We got a visual rematch of their September meeting, when the Rebels beat the Green Wave, 45-10, with Tulane in green helmets, white jerseys and green pants and Ole Miss in navy blue helmets and jerseys with gray pants.
First Round – Eugene, Oregon
Oregon 51, JMU 34
The Dukes wore white helmets and jerseys with purple pants for their first-round matchup with the Ducks, who broke out their apple green helmets with gold wings, apple green jerseys and gold pants in the final game of the night.

Famous Idaho Potato Bowl
Washington State 34, Utah State 21
The Aggies wore their white spotted cow print helmets with navy blue jerseys and pants against the Cougars, who were in all-white uniforms on the blue turf in Boise.
Dec. 23
Bush’s Boca Raton Bowl
Louisville 27, Toledo 22
The Cardinals wore their black helmets, red home jerseys and black pants when they took on the Rockets, who countered with their all-white road look just a few miles from the beach in South Florida.
New Orleans Bowl
Western Kentucky 27, Southern Miss 16
The Golden Eagles wore black helmets, black jerseys and gold pants against the Hilltoppers, who were outfitted in black helmets with a fleur-de-lis pattern inside their script “Tops” decals, white jerseys and red pants.
Scooter’s Coffee Frisco Bowl
Ohio 17, UNLV 10
The Bobcats wore green helmets and their black alternate uniforms against the Rebels, who wore white helmets, gray jerseys and white pants in the second of two bowl games at the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco this postseason.

Sheraton Hawai’i Bowl
Hawai’i 35, Cal 31
The Golden Bears wore white jerseys and pants and gold helmets that featured a tribal pattern inside their paw print decals and stripe down the center to honor the people and cultures of the Pacific Islands when they took on the Rainbow Warriors, who wore their all-black home uniforms on Christmas Eve.

Northwestern 34, Central Michigan 7
The Wildcats wore their all-black Gothic-inspired alternate uniforms against the Chippewas, who wore burgundy helmets, white jerseys and burgundy pants at Ford Field in Detroit, home of the NFL’s Lions.

Minnesota 20, New Mexico 17 (OT)
The Lobos wore their turquoise throwback uniforms against the Golden Gophers, who were outfitted in gold helmets with maroon jerseys and gold pants at Chase Field in Phoenix, home of MLB’s Arizona Diamondbacks.

The Roadrunners were decked out in navy blue from head to toe, while the Panthers wore navy blue gents with white jerseys and pants at Gerald J. Ford Stadium in Dallas, home of the SMU Mustangs.

The Tigers will wear their black home jerseys with gold or black helmets and pants, while the Cavaliers will counter with all-white uniforms that feature a script “Virginia” on the helmets for Saturday’s game at EverBank Stadium, home of the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Cougars will wear their all-red uniforms against the Tigers, who will be outfitted in their “home” uniforms of gold helmets, white jerseys and gold pants at NRG Stadium, home of the NFL’s Houston Texans.
