The latest episode of Monday Night RAW doesn’t seem to be a great night for Finn Balor. The former Universal Champion was in a backstage segment with CM Punk, during which Punk appreciated him for his actions last week after their match.
The Best in the World advised The Judgment Day member to win the Royal Rumble match and earn another title shot at WrestleMania in Vegas. Later on the show, Balor confronted Adam Pearce to officially declare his entry into the traditional Rumble match.
Thanks for the submission!
However, the RAW General Manager refused to make things official and instead revealed that the Royal Rumble match is already full, leaving no spot for Finn Balor.
In this article, we will discuss three reasons why The Judgment Day member is out of the 2026 Men’s Rumble match.
#3. To plant more seeds for his babyface turn
One of the main reasons Finn Balor is not competing in the Men’s Rumble match is that it will help WWE plant more seeds for his babyface turn. Pearce was unhappy that Finn was too late to make such a declaration, which shows that the ex-Universal Champion has failed to work on himself as a villainous star.
So, it will eventually plant the seeds for his babyface turn, and fans could witness the return of Prince Balor soon on Monday Night RAW.
#2. To build a great WWE WrestleMania 42 storyline for Finn Balor
WWE WrestleMania 42 is just a few months away. Another reason Balor is out of the Rumble match could be to set the stage for his ‘Mania storyline.
It’s not a surprise to say that even if Finn enters the Men’s Rumble match, he is unlikely to emerge as the winner. So, it’s better to book a new angle for his Showcase of the Immortals storyline.
We already saw that Liv Morgan asked Finn Balor questions about his interactions with CM Punk, but he refused to give a clear answer. So, whenever Dominik Mysterio returns, he may demand answers. This could set the stage for Balor vs. Dominik at WrestleMania 42.
#1. To separate Balor from The Judgment Day
CM Punk already advised Finn Balor to ditch The Judgment Day faction and become a solo superstar again to revive his career. After Adam Pearce refused to give Balor a chance in the Men’s Rumble match, it may lead to Finn’s breakup with the RAW faction.
So, to execute the 44-year-old star’s separation from the villainous group, WWE might have decided not to put Finn in the Men’s Rumble match.
