3 WWE rumors we hope are true and three we hope aren’t

Welcome to another edition of WWE rumors we hope are true, and we hope are not. This year’s Royal Rumble Premium Live Event is on the horizon. It will stream live from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

In between this, major rumors and speculation circulate on the internet. In this article, we will discuss three WWE rumors we hope are true and three we hope aren’t.

#6. Hope true: Rey Mysterio’s injury is not serious

🚨| Rey Mysterio is legitimately injured. The ref throwing up the X sign and the way Rey was quickly sidelined from the scene pretty much confirms it. Really hope it’s nothing serious. Wishing him a speedy recovery 🙏 #WWERaw

Rey Mysterio locked horns with Austin Theory on RAW this week. However, after the victory of The Vision member, the referee threw an X sign, signaling that the Hall of Famer had suffered a real-life injury.

Amid this, a recent report from F4WOnline noted that Mysterio’s injury is believed not to be serious. Further, the source added that there are no details yet regarding the injury.

We hope the rumor is true and that Rey Mysterio’s injury is not serious. The veteran star is part of a weekly episode of the red brand, and his hiatus could also impact Penta and Dragon Lee.

#5. Hope not true: Cody Rhodes’ heel turn not happening soon

It’s been a long time since the WWE Universe has been eagerly anticipating the heel turn of Cody Rhodes. The American Nightmare has portrayed the babyface character since his return a few years ago.

A report from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (WON) revealed that WWE has no plans to turn Rhodes heel anytime soon. The source said the merchandise numbers are strong for the former Undisputed Champion, and the company doesn’t want to tinker with it.

We hope the rumor is not true. The Stamford-based promotion must turn Rhodes into a heel star soon to add some fresh energy to his character.

#4. Hope true: Drew McIntyre WrestleMania 42 plans

Drew McIntyre dethroned Cody Rhodes to become the Undisputed WWE Champion. Now, The Scottish Psychopath is set to defend the title against Sami Zayn, who earned this title shot after winning a Fatal Four-Way match at Saturday Night’s Main Event.

Many believe that Sami might emerge as the new champion in Saudi Arabia PLE, but it seems WWE has different plans. Reports indicate that Drew is expected to enter WrestleMania 42 as the titleholder.

This means McIntyre will not lose his title at the Royal Rumble. We hope the rumor is true, as Drew deserves a great title reign as the world champion and should hold the title at least until The Showcase of the Immortals.

#3. Hope not true: AJ Styles’ retirement story is not planted

Shinsuke Nakamura via IG seemingly revealed that… AJ Styles is LEGIT retiring next Saturday. “Royal Rumble. I’ve already decided.”

AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura delivered a banger match at SNME. Following this, The King of Strong Style posted a story on his official Instagram account, revealing that AJ had already told him that he would retire at this year’s Royal Rumble.

Later, Shinsuke deleted the Instagram story, sparking speculation that it was planted to fool the internet. However, a report from Wrestling Newsletter’s Daily Update noted that the story was not planted by Nakamura, but that Styles told him in a real sense that he would finish up at Rumble.

We hope the rumor is not true, as The Phenomenal One’s retirement at the Saudi Arabia show could be too early.

#2. Hope true: A big offer to The Rock for WWE WrestleMania 43

WrestleMania 43 is set to take place in Saudi Arabia, and already, major speculation is circulating on the internet. One of the major questions is about The Rock and his potential in-ring comeback at next year’s Showcase of the Immortals.

A report revealed that The Final Boss is expected to receive a massive offer. The offer could be the largest ever made for someone in the pro wrestling show. We hope the rumor is true, as it would mean that The Rock vs. Roman Reigns might finally take place at WrestleMania 43.

#1. Hope not true: Adam Pearce in-ring WWE comeback update

Adam Pearce is currently working as the RAW General Manager. His storyline with The Vision is taking surprising twists and turns, especially after the introduction of a new mystery senior authority figure.

Also, fans are speculating the in-ring comeback of Pearce, especially due to the heated segments between the RAW GM and Bron Breakker. A report from Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer confirmed that WWE has no plans for Adam Pearce’s in-ring return. This is particularly true since he stopped wrestling a long time ago.

We hope the rumor is not true. Adam Pearce stepping out of his in-ring retirement to compete against The Vision could be a compelling storyline to watch in WWE.
