CM Punk and Sami Zayn have been feuding on WWE Friday Night SmackDown over the Undisputed WWE Championship. They are set to collide on the upcoming episode of SmackDown in Mexico City.
Earlier this year, Sami Zayn captured his first world title at Night of Champions, beating Cody Rhodes and Gunther in a triple-threat match, pulling off one of the most unexpected title changes in recent memory.

The Honorary Uce was scheduled to make his first title defense against Cody Rhodes on the July 6 edition of Monday Night RAW. However, Gunther attacked The American Nightmare backstage, leaving him unable to compete.
General Manager Adam Pearce announced a last-minute replacement in CM Punk. The Best in the World was coming off a major title loss to Roman Reigns at WrestleMania. The Second City Saint beat Zayn in his hometown of Chicago and became the new Undisputed WWE Champion, ending Sami’s title reign in under a week.
Since then, Sami Zayn has been after Punk, inserting himself into every Undisputed WWE Championship-related match. Last week on SmackDown, he even tried to help Johnny Gargano beat the Second City Saint, but failed.
After the match, Nick Aldis came out to confront Zayn for trying to ruin the title match, but the Second City Saint used his champion’s advantage and granted the Last Real Good Guy a title shot against him for this week’s SmackDown.

When the Honorary Uce entered the triple threat Undisputed Championship match against Cody Rhodes and Gunther at Night of Champions, he was the underdog. However, he shocked the world after winning the title.
Zayn is being heavily overlooked in his rematch against CM Punk. But the Honorary Uce does his best as an underdog, and he could do it again by beating the Second City Saint on SmackDown in Mexico, changing the blue brand’s trajectory.
#2. Kevin Owens screws his best friend
On the August 21 episode of Friday Night SmackDown, KO challenged Punk for a title match. They battled in a hard-fought bout, but Sami Zayn interfered and offered Owens help to beat the Best in the World. Upon his refusal, the Last Real Good Guy snapped and hit the belt on the Prizefighter’s face, which gave the Second City Saint a perfect opening to hit his GTS and pin KO.
Owens could finally exact his revenge on Sami by interfering in his title match in Mexico. KO could potentially distract Zayn and give Punk a chance to end his game once and for all.

At Sunday Night’s Main Event, Randy Orton defeated Cody Rhodes. Now he could head toward his real goal: capturing the gold.
In a shocking turn of events, The Apex Predator could show up out of nowhere and connect an RKO on Zayn. Punk could follow it up with a GTS to retain his title.
Orton and Punk could then have an intense face-off to close the night with a perfect kick-off to an exciting rivalry on the blue brand.
