4 WWE stars who ought to have been included within the Intercontinental Title Ladder Match at WrestleMania 42

After Penta defeated Kofi Kingston in an Intercontinental Title Open Challenge on WWE RAW, he revealed that he’ll put the title on the line in a ladder match at WrestleMania 42.

Qualifying matches apparently took place on episodes of Main Event, determining who would be in the field of competitors. It’s not everyone who you’d think.

Joining Penta are Dragon Lee, JD McDonagh, Je’Von Evans, and Rusev. The next four WWE stars should have been included in the field instead of some of the other combatants.

#4. El Grande Americano (Chad Gable) continues his feud

Chad Gable has never won the Intercontinental Championship despite many attempts. He’s been working on RAW and in Lucha Libre AAA under the guise of the Original El Grande Americano.

He’s been feuding with the other El Grande Americano, portrayed by Ludwig Kaiser. Since the two have been feuding across promotions, it’d make sense to add that feud to the ladder match instead of JD McDonagh and Rusev.

#3. El Grande Americano (Ludwig Kaiser)

While Gable’s version of the masked star is popular in WWE, Kaiser’s is arguably the most popular star in AAA. He has a guaranteed future title shot at the Triple A Mega Championship by winning the Rey de Reyes tournament in March.

Dominik Mysterio currently holds that title. WWE could easily weave that feud into the ladder match at WrestleMania. Penta has also worked at AAA events, including a defense against Vikingo ahead of WrestleMania.

Adding a few feuding stars to one match would open up spots on the card for other stars. All of these performers have also been circling Penta and the title over the last two months.

#2. Finn Balor & #1. Dominik Mysterio are added by WWE officials

Among the matches for WrestleMania 42 officially announced on RAW was a singles bout between Finn Balor and Dominik Mysterio.

Since their feud stems from the Intercontinental Championship and both men were involved when Penta won the belt, it’s a no-brainer to fold that grudge into the ladder match.

Dirty Dom even pinned Balor last year to win the title at WrestleMania 41. Putting those two in the match would open up a spot on the card for the tag team titles, LA Knight, IYO SKY, and others who seem like they may, unfortunately, be left out.
