WWE’s on-screen General Managers have had a lot of importance over the past few years. SmackDown’s Nick Aldis and RAW’s Adam Pearce have had prominent roles on both shows, and it seems clear that the position is here to stay.
Some General Managers, such as Teddy Long for SmackDown, Eric Bischoff for RAW, and William Regal for the black and gold era of NXT, helped elevate the product significantly. Similarly, some of today’s stars could go on to become General Managers in their own right in the future.
Thanks for the submission!
With that in mind, here are four WWE Superstars who could potentially become General Managers in the future.
4. The Miz
The Miz is among the most experienced people in WWE’s locker room, still making regular appearances on both shows. He is among the best on the mic and carries himself with authority, traits that could make him a believable General Manager in the future.
The A-Lister has had a career that few can dream of, and could transition into a non-wrestling role as he nears his retirement. He could be a brash and outspoken GM, becoming one of the few stars to be in the position as a heel.
3. Kevin Owens
Kevin Owens has missed around a year of action after needing neck surgery last year. The procedure was completed successfully in July 2025, but the former Universal Champion has remained away from programming, recovering from the surgery.
If he is unlikely to be medically cleared anytime soon, WWE could utilize his personality by having him become an on-screen General Manager. Owens is great on the mic and could bring in a very dynamic element to the role of a GM, playing the part of a comic relief, as well as a serious authority figure.
2. Chelsea Green
Chelsea Green has now become one of the most prominent names on the WWE women’s roster. The former Women’s United States Champion has let her personality shine through, and fans have acknowledged her efforts by rallying behind her over the past few years.
Green’s personality has caused her to have issues with the General Managers of RAW and SmackDown. But it would be an interesting turn of events if she were to make the jump to a position of authority. It would certainly give the ‘Green Regime’ a whole new meaning, while capitalizing on her outspoken personality.
1. AJ Styles
AJ Styles called time on his in-ring career at the 2026 Royal Rumble, when he lost to Gunther. The Phenomenal One has spoken about helping new talent backstage, and could do so by becoming a General Manager and staying on the road with the company.
For the time being, it seems like he will focus on giving time to his family. However, in the future, Styles could become a beloved GM on screen. He commands respect, is strong on the mic, and has a great personality. These traits would surely allow him to join legends such as Mick Foley and Kurt Angle as WWE icons who have also been successful General Managers following their in-ring careers.
