Tony Khan’s wrestling promotion, AEW, has been thriving as one of the major companies in the world. This year, the Jacksonville-based entity has capped off a series of highly successful television show episodes, pay-per-views, and more. They also saw the spectacular debuts of former WWE superstars like Austin Creed, Kofi Kingston, and Ilja Dragunov, who became major additions to their roster.
Furthermore, All Elite Wrestling also saw some highly memorable moments such as Will Ospreay capturing his first-ever AEW World Championship, Queen Aminata winning her first major title in the company, and more. As 2026 draws to a close, here are five things that can still happen in All Elite Wrestling before the calendar year changes.
#5. Queen Aminata wins another major AEW title
Queen Aminata has been one of the most consistent and talented in-ring performers on the AEW and ROH rosters. Despite that, Aminata kept missing major opportunities and even faced injury setbacks that derailed her momentum. However, her hard work and perseverance finally paid off when she dethroned Persephone and became the new TBS Champion on the October 28 episode of Dynamite: Fright Night. While Aminata captured her first-ever singles title in AEW, it might not be the only gold she wins before the year ends.
Last month, she unsuccessfully challenged Mercedes Mone for the AEW Women’s World Championship at Dynamite: Grand Slam France. Despite that, she praised Mone and said she would want a rematch against The CEO.
“Growing up watching wrestling, I didn’t really have a role model, so I just wanted to make myself my own role model. Now that I’ve faced her in Paris, after that match, something stuck in my head. I want to be as good as this woman is. She is amazing. I don’t think people give her enough credit. I feel like I’m a different wrestler because of that match. It was in France, and I grew up in France. Of course, it’s the one and only Mercedes Mone. I want to do it again. I really want to wrestle her again. She’s amazing,” said Aminata.
The 33-year-old-star’s wish could come true sooner than expected. With Aminata also holding a Women’s title, this could set the stage for a Title vs. Title rematch between her and Mone and could end in greater glory for Aminata by making her a double champion before the end of the year.
#4. Death Riders faction crumbles
The Death Riders have been one of the most dominant factions since Jon Moxley formed the group in 2024. However, many fans believe that their run as a cohesive unit has become stale. Not only that, there were some instances this year that suggested the stable’s dissolution, but it did not happen. With The Dogs ending their ties with the Death Riders, it could be a sign of a potential implosion of the entire faction before this year comes to a close.
#3. Kairi Sane finally makes her AEW debut
Kairi Sane was released by WWE earlier this year. Since then, there have been major rumors about her potential signing with AEW. However, reports have suggested that some visa issues have delayed The Pirate Princess’ debut. Despite that, a report by Fightful suggests that Tony Khan is interested in signing her to his roster.
At the same time, Sane will be part of the upcoming Rock & Wrestling Rager shows at Chris Jericho’s Cruise, which will also host next week’s episode of Collision. This could see Sane performing as a special appearance as part of the Collision tapings, which could pave the way for her impending AEW debut before 2026 ends.
#2. Kyle Fletcher wins the World Championship at Full Gear 2026 PPV
Kyle Fletcher is set for a major opportunity in his thriving career in All Elite Wrestling. The Protostar will challenge Will Ospreay for the AEW World Championship at Full Gear 2026 pay-per-view. Since he began his tenure in 2022, Fletcher has been touted as one of the next big stars in professional wrestling. In fact, his ally, Don Callis, himself called Fletcher the greatest wrestler in the making.
“Everything I’ve done wite the Don Callis Family, getting Kyle Fletcher ready for becoming what I believe he’s going to be the greatest wrestler in the history of the sport,” he said. [H/T – Wrestling INC.]
The prophecy could finally come true at the upcoming Full Gear 2026 PPV. This could see Fletcher, with help from the Don Callis Family, defeat Ospreay to win his first-ever World Championship in the Jacksonville-based promotion.
#1. The dream match between Adam Copeland and Kenny Omega
Adam Copeland dropped the bombshell announcement that 2027 will be his final year as an in-ring competitor. That night marked the start of his final leg, and he could close out this year with a huge dream match against Kenny Omega. The Rated-R Superstar has battled some of the greatest wrestlers like John Cena, Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, Randy Orton, and more. Therefore, he could add the marquee match against The Best Bout Machine before 2026 ends.
