Roman Reigns and LA Knight opened WWE Money in the Bank 2026 with a classic back-and-forth World Heavyweight Championship match. The Megastar pushed the OTC to his limit, but Reigns eventually retained his title.
Both men endured plenty of punishment in the match. Fans were on the edge of their seats throughout the bout due to multiple near falls. Knight pulled out all the stops to put Reigns away, but failed to get the job done. The Megastar proved that he belongs at the top, but the OTC showed everyone why he is where he is.
Thanks for the submission!
Let’s look at six moves Roman Reigns kicked out of against LA Knight at Money in the Bank.
#6. Burning Hammer
This caught everyone watching by surprise. LA Knight hit his signature superplex from the top rope, but instead of going for a cover, The Megastar picked Roman Reigns up on his shoulders and hit a Burning Hammer.
Knight immediately went for a pin, as Michael Cole and Corey Graves believed the match could be over. However, Reigns kicked out at two.
#5. BFT
LA Knight has put away several major opponents with his finishing move, Blunt Force Trauma. Nobody had kicked out of the move before Roman Reigns did on Saturday.
Reigns had Knight in position for a Spear. However, The Megastar stopped the OTC in his tracks and surprised him with a thunderous BFT. Given how effective the move had been, fans thought the match could be over, but Reigns managed to get his shoulder up at 2.9. Knight was visibly frustrated as the match continued.
#4. Roman Reigns kicked out of a Spear
LA Knight gave Roman Reigns a taste of his own medicine at Money in the Bank. This sequence took place late in the match. The OTC was in control and was ready to put Knight away for good.
Reigns began to build momentum for a Spear by running the ropes, but Knight intercepted him with a Spear of his own. Fans in New Orleans were stunned by this, but the OTC managed to kick out.
#3, #2, & #1. Barricade crash, powerbomb through the announce table, and flying elbow drop
LA Knight came very close to winning late in the match. Roman Reigns was about to hit a Spear on Knight through the barricade, but The Megastar moved out of the way at the last second, as Reigns went crashing through the barricade. The Megastar then powerbombed the champion through the announce table before returning to the ring and hitting a flying elbow drop.
Knight immediately went for the cover, hoping that the three consecutive moves would finally keep Reigns down. However, the OTC kicked out at two once again.
The sequence was one of Knight’s best opportunities to win the World Heavyweight Championship. Reigns had taken significant punishment, but he survived the pinfall attempt and eventually recovered to hit two Superman Punches and a Spear, securing the victory and retaining his title.
