Flames are a type of match modifier in 99 Nights in the Forest that you can use on your campsite’s flame to cause a specific event during your match. On February 21, 2026, this survival and escape experience released its Modifier Flames update, which added the following eight new Flames into the game:

  • Valentine’s Flame
  • Thanksgiving Flame
  • Coinsplosion Flame
  • Fishing Flame
  • Taming Flame
  • Red Chest Flame
  • Apple Tree Flame
  • Fairy Flame

To obtain each Flame, you have to complete Tier 2 or Tier 3 Daily Quests that you can track and start by spinning the slot machine, available at the lobby. After obtaining Flames, you have to start a match, chop three woods, and craft a Supply Crate using the Crafting Bench during the first three days. By opening the Supply Crate, you’ll be able to spawn and use your Flames.

Step 1: Obtain Flames

The game allows you to obtain a random Flame by completing Tier 2 and Tier 3 daily quests. To obtain quests and track your progress, you must visit the slot machine that’s available at the game’s lobby. Here’s a list of all the quests that you can get to complete:

Tier 2 Quests

  • Revive your teammates five times in a single match.
  • Knock down 10 trees by baiting the Ram.
  • Eat 10 Chilis during a single round.
  • Consume only meat for 20 days.
  • Clear the Cultist Stronghold.
  • Get an upgraded Axe, Sack and Flashlight in a single round.
  • Sacrifice a friend into the Volcano.
  • Have three different kinds of pets at once.
  • Craft 20 ammo at the Ammo Crate.
  • Consume 50 fireflies to recharge your Flashlight battery.
  • Have more than 100 scrap in your Crafting Bench.
  • Tame an Alpha Wolf.
  • Use the Skills Building to upgrade a tool to level 2.
  • Put an upgrade tablet in the Crafting Bench to upgrade a crafting recipe.
  • Chop down a brightwood tree.
  • Get a kill using an explosive weapon from the Caves.

Tier 3 Quests

  • Craft the warmest hat in the Snow Biome.
  • Fish up five items that aren’t Fish.
  • Defeat the Cultist King.
  • Connect all four fragments of a Gem of the Forest.
  • Craft a helmet at the Tool Workshop.
  • Open three Ruby Chests.
  • Clear a level four Cultist Stronghold.
  • Craft any item from tier five Crafting.
  • Eat three Ribs.
  • Tame a Mammoth.
  • Use the Skills Building to upgrade a tool to level 3.
  • Activate all four Blessings in the Cave.

Step 2: Use Flames

After obtaining a Flame, you can use it by following these steps:

  • After spawning at the game’s lobby, create a party and start the match.
  • Once you spawn into the game, go to your nearest tree and chop it off using your Axe. Collect at least three pieces of wood by following this process.
  • Next, head towards the Crafting Bench and unstore your Sack.
  • Now, interact with the Crafting Bench and craft a Supply Crate. After placing it down at your base before day three, you can spawn any of your pre-owned Flame.
  • As the Flame spawns, drag it towards your campsite. This will change the flame’s color, and the modifier will get applied.
