PSG Pay Homage to Eiffel Tower With New Away Kit – Plus More European Kit Launches – SportsLogos.Net News

Perennial French Ligue 1 contenders Paris Saint-Germain are paying homage to one of their home city’s most recognizable landmarks with their new away kit for 2024-25, made by Nike.

The kits were unveiled earlier this week and feature a graphic representation of the Eiffel Tower on the front of the kit. Red and blue brush stroke stripes start at the left shoulder of the white shirt and bow out toward the bottom right. Another blue brush stroke connects the two, mirroring the tower’s architecture.

The crew neck collar is white, while both sleeve cuffs are diagonally split between red and blue.

PSG wore similar Eiffel Tower-themed kits during the 1990-91 and 1991-92 seasons.

PSG opens their 2024-25 Ligue 1 season against AC Le Havre on Sunday, August 18.

🇮🇹 SSC NAPOLI – Home

Over in Italy, 2022-23 Serie A champions SSC Napoli have rolled out a new visual identity along with their home kit for 2024-25, made by Emporio Armani. The new crest retains the serifed ‘N’ in a circle from the old crest, but strips away shading and three-dimensional elements. It’s “now more minimalist and contemporary in design,” according to the club. “Shorn of extra elements, it looks cleaner and more stylish in a monochrome variant.”

Napoli’s 2024-25 home kit features the new crest in white on a light blue background. The crest also appears as an embossed repeating pattern all over the shirt. The polo collar and sleeve cuffs have white trim, and there’s a white insert at the front of the collar. The shirt also features panels under the arms that taper as they run down the sides.

🇫🇷 STADE DE REIMS – Home

Like their French compatriots PSG, Ligue 1 side Stade de Reims are also taking inspiration from a local landmark for their 2024-25 home kit, their first with new kit supplier Puma. Subtle tonal sets of six pinstripes appear across the front of the shirt, a nod to the features of the800-year-old Reims Cathedral, which brings about one million tourists to the city each year. The sleeves are solid white, as is the front half of the V-neck collar.

WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS – Home

After announcing a new kit partnership with SUDU last week, Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers wasted no time in launching their new home kits for 2024-25. The kit retains Wolves’ signature shade of amber, with embossed geometric lines inspired by the shape of the club crest and the architecture of their home ground, Molineux. The crest sits in the middle of the chest, just above the logo of new front-of-shirt sponsor Debet. The crew neck collar and sleeve cuffs are black with an amber stripe through the middle.

WEST HAM UNITED – Home

Elsewhere in the Premier League, West Ham United are celebrating their “golden era” of the 1960s with their 2024-25 home kits, made by Umbro. The traditional claret body and light blue sleeves are adorned with striping on the collar and sleeve cuffs. The club crest is altered to match the era as well; the white lettering blends into the light blue shield, but the claret crossed hammers stand out. The back collar features a tribute to West Ham’s 1964-65 squad, which famously won the European Cup Winners’ Cup.

🇪🇸 REAL BETIS – Home

Spanish La Liga side Real Betis return to tradition with their 2024-25 home kit, made by Hummel. The kit features the club’s traditional green and white vertical stripes not only on the front, but also on the back and sleeves, along with an embossed chevron pattern. The white polo collar is trimmed with green triangles, mirroring the club crest, and the sleeve cuffs have white trim.

🇪🇸 RCD MALLORCA – Home

Spanish La Liga side RCD Mallorca launched their 2024-25 Nike home kit earlier this week by inviting 100 supporters for a sneak peek. The shirt features a red-and-black shatter pattern on the front that several Nike-outfitted teams used last season, most notably SC Freiburg of the German Bundesliga. The shoulders are solid black while the crew neck collar and sleeve cuffs are red. The back has a solid black panel for name and number legibility.

🇪🇸 VILLARREAL CF – Away & Third

After launching their home kit earlier this week, Spanish La Liga side Villarreal CF have rounded out their wardrobe for 2024-25 with the release of their away and third kits, made by Joma. Like the home kit, the away and third kits celebrate the ceramic tile industry that has driven the economy of their home province of Castellón for centuries. The away kit is sky blue with navy blue details, including a ceramic tile pattern in the side panels. The third kit, meanwhile, is predominantly black with monochrome pink logos and pink pinstripes in the collar and sleeve cuffs.

🇩🇪 VfL BOCHUM – Home & Away

German Bundesliga side VfL Bochum honors its fans with its 2024-25 home and away kits, made by Mizuno. The navy blue home kit features an embossed pattern of cheering fans all over. “It is precisely this feeling and this connection between the club and the fans that our team will bring onto the pitch next season,” the club says on its website. The away kit, meanwhile, is light blue with embossed diagonal stripes across the front. Both feature white trim on the collars and sleeve cuffs.

🇩🇪 VfB STUTTGART – Home

Bundesliga club VfB Stuttgart are promoting unity and solidarity with their 2024-25 home kit, made by Jako. After a couple of years of busy shirts recently, Stuttgart goes back to basics with a solid white base and their ever-present red band across the chest. The collar and sleeve cuffs are solid red, and Jako’s trademark circles cascade down the shoulders. Printed inside the collar is a white heart with a red outline and a red band through the middle.

🇩🇪 1. FSV MAINZ 05 – Home

Bundesliga side 1. FSV Mainz 05 turns to its checkered past for inspiration for its 2024-25 home kit, made by Jako. Mainz first wore a red-and-white checkboard pattern nearly 30 years ago, and they return to it this season with a modern twist. The checkers on the front and back of the shirt appear to fall down as they approach the hem. They’re overlaid by Mainz’s own signature geometric pattern. Red-and-white checks also appear on the sleeves and on trim on the back of the shorts.

🇩🇪 1. FC UNION BERLIN – Third

Elsewhere in Germany, Bundesliga side 1. FC Union Berlin kick off their 2024-25 kit rotation with the launch of their third kit, made by Adidas. The predominantly yellow shirt features two white vertical stripes on the front and red accents on the collar and shoulders. Instead of their usual front-of-shirt sponsor, this kit has a red “BERLIN” wordmark on the front, with the city’s iconic television tower serving as the I.
