The Milwaukee Admirals put the rest of the American Hockey League on red alert this week with the unveiling of a second fauxback alternate jersey.
The Admirals unveiled the jersey on their website and social media channels on Wednesday, July 31. It’s based on the cream-colored fauxback jersey that was introduced in 2021-22, but this time the base of the jersey is red. One blue and two cream stripes run around the waist and each sleeve. The shoulder yokes are blue with cream borders, and the logo of the Admirals’ NHL parent club, the Nashville Predators, sits on the left shoulder. The numbers on the sleeves and back are cream with a blue outline.
“We are very excited to add these red jerseys to our repertoire for the upcoming season,” Admirals owner and chief executive officer Harris Turer said on the team’s website. “These sweaters continue the development of our fauxback logo and I can’t wait to see our players in them next year.”
The front of the jersey features the same Admirals fauxback logo as the cream-colored jersey. The logo was designed by Dan Simon of Studio Simon and “is meant to replicate what the team’s logo might have looked like if the team had existed during the 1950s and ’60s.”
The Admirals will debut the new red jerseys on the ice when they host the Iowa Wild on Friday, December 13. The team’s announcement says they’ll wear the red jerseys five to 10 times during the 2024-25 AHL regular season, with the rest of the dates still to be determined. The Admirals gave no indication in Wednesday’s announcement that the cream-colored jerseys would be retired.
Fans can pre-order the new red sweaters through the Admirals’ online store, with delivery expected in November. Red merchandise with the fauxback logo is also available through the online store and at the Admirals’ booth at the Wisconsin State Fair, which takes place August 1-11.
