The most wonderful time of the year is nearly upon us as the 2024-25 college football season kicks off on Saturday with the Aer Lingus College Football Classic between Florida State and Georgia Tech (12 p.m. ET on ESPN).

With that, we’ve compiled a comprehensive list of every uniform, logo and field change that has taken place across the country this offseason, which we’ve broken down by conference and will share daily over the next week.

Yesterday’s article covered the ACC, so now we’re moving onto the Big Ten as we make our way alphabetically through the Power 4 conferences before we circle back with the Group of 5, soon-to-be defunct Pac-12 and Independent programs.

Now, let’s take an in-depth look at the Big Ten, which expanded to 18 teams this year with the addition of former Pac-12 members Oregon, UCLA, USC and Washington…

Illinois

The Fighting Illini will celebrate the 100th season of Memorial Stadium by wearing Red Grange-era throwback uniforms, complete with a hand-painted leather helmet design, against Michigan on Oct. 19.

They’ll also don three different throwback helmets – including the four stars, an arched “Illini” and the underlined “Illinois” – in select games this season, as well as their standard Block “I” design.

All five helmets feature Memorial Stadium’s 100th season commemorative logo, which will also appear on the right shoulder of the aforementioned throwback uniforms and Illinois’ standard blue home and white road jerseys.

Indiana

The Hoosiers scrapped their Bill Mallory-inspired uniforms, complete with black trim and faux-mesh numbers, for a simplified look with an oversized “Indiana” wordmark on their crimson home jerseys and “Hoosiers” on their white road set.

Iowa

The Hawkeyes quietly updated to Nike’s Vapor F.U.S.E. template and changed their front and back helmet bumpers from white to black.

Maryland

After announcing a 12-year contract extension with Under Armour that runs through the 2036 season, the Terrapins have updated to the apparel company’s new ARMR 037 uniform template.

Their throwback-inspired uniforms now feature an “M” at the base of the collar after having nothing in that space since the red home version was introduced in 2019 and white road version in 2021.

Maryland also revealed its uniform schedule for the season, which includes wearing all-black against Northwestern on Oct. 11 and black helmets, gold jerseys and black pants against Rutgers on Nov. 16.

Michigan

After becoming the first team in college football history to win 1,000 games, the Wolverines wore a “Mich1Gan” front helmet bumper for the final four games of the 2023 season. The defending national champions have reverted back to their standard Block “M” ahead of this season, however.

Minnesota

The Golden Gophers unveiled new uniforms in June that feature stripes on the sleeves, something that hasn’t appeared on their uniforms in nearly 50 years. They also include solid color numbers in their current font, which is a nod to their 1999-2007 and 2012-17 designs.

Northwestern

The Wildcats updated to the latest Under Armour template while maintaining the design they unveiled ahead of the 2022 season. There’s a small difference, though, as they added their primary logo to the base of the collar.

Additionally, Northwestern will play its home games at a temporary on-campus stadium and Wrigley Field – home of the Chicago Cubs – while Ryan Field is rebuilt after being demolished this offseason.

Ohio State

The Buckeyes announced they’ll wear their all-gray alternate uniforms, which debuted in last season’s 38-3 win over Michigan State, against Iowa on Oct. 5.

Oregon

The Ducks unveiled three new uniforms this offseason, including an all-black design that combines various eras of Oregon football, an all-green design that pays homage to the “Gang Green” teams of the mid-1990s and a matching white road jersey with gold helmets and pants that were inspired by “The Catch.”

The program is expected to unveil two more “Generation O” uniforms this season, including a white jersey that features the same design as the all-black set. Each jersey notably has a silver B1G patch and Nike Swoosh on the shoulders.

Purdue

The Boilermakers unveiled new Vapor F.U.S.E. uniforms that feature stripes inspired by their helmets during the Joe Tiller era, which were gold with a black and white Brashier stripe down the center.

It was a long-overdue update, as Purdue was the last power conference team outfitted in Nike’s Mach Speed template, which was introduced during the 2013 bowl season.

UCLA and USC

Like Oregon above and Washington below, the Bruins and Trojans have updated their jerseys and field design to include the B1G logo. The latter has notably been using jerseys with their new conference patch during recruiting visits for more than a year.

Although they haven’t been unveiled yet, the Huskies will wear a black version of their Husky Royalty alternate uniforms for an undetermined game this fall. They feature gold numbers, as well as purple and gold stripes on the sleeves.

Wisconsin

The Badgers have also updated to Under Armour’s latest template, moving their Motion “W” primary logo from below the collar to the base of the collar – and shrinking it – in the process.
