CFL’s BC Lions Bring Back Gunmetal Uniforms, Introduce New Alt Logo – Sports activitiesLogos.Net News

The Canadian Football League’s BC Lions have brought back a popular alternate uniform with a new twist for 2024.

The Lions announced on Friday, September 13, that they’ve added their gunmetal grey alternate uniforms back into their closet, and along with them comes a new alternate logo on the shoulders.

The jerseys have a gunmetal grey base and collar and black sleeves and shoulders. The numbers on the front, back and sleeves are black with orange outlines. A black “LIONS” wordmark sits on the chest, above the front number. The nameplate on the back is black with orange lettering inside.

The new alternate logo appears on the shoulders of the jersey and on the right hip of the pants. It uses the same lion’s head as the team’s primary logo, but “BC” is written out underneath in a new, slightly italicized block font. The letters are black with orange outlines.

The pants that go with the jersey are gunmetal grey with orange and black stripes down the sides.

Photos and videos released on Friday showed quarterbacks Nathan Rourke and Vernon Adams Jr. wearing the jerseys with black socks. They didn’t show the players wearing helmets, though, so it remains to be seen if the new alternate logo will appear there.

The Lions have been wearing gunmetal grey uniforms off and on since 2013. Most iterations have included an orange lion’s paw logo on the shoulders and helmet. In 2022, the refreshed gunmetal jerseys had a new number font and a logo with a front view of a lion’s face on the shoulders.

The Lions introduced revamped uniforms prior to the 2023 season, which included a black home uniform and a “fog” grey away uniform.

The new gunmetal jerseys will make their debut on the field tonight (Friday, September 13) when the Lions host the Toronto Argonauts. Fans can pre-order the jerseys through the Lions’ online store, with delivery expected early next week.
