Although they leaked on social media last month, the Los Angeles Lakers unveiled their 2024-25 City Edition uniforms – as well as the first City Edition court in franchise history – on Tuesday afternoon.

The uniforms – dubbed the “California Destiny” set – are considered a progression of last year’s “California Dream” City Edition design, which celebrated the Lakers’ move to Los Angeles in 1960

The black-to-purple gradient jerseys prominently display a “Lake Show” wordmark, marking the first time in Lakers history that they’ll deviate from their city and/or nickname across the chest.

The purple numbers outlined in gold are modeled after Los Angeles’ font from 1999-2017 and include a black drop shadow that was pulled from the Lakers’ current uniform design.

The purple-to-black gradient shorts, meanwhile, include an inverted black-to-purple side panel with the secondary “LA” logo on the sides and a championship banner logo on the waistband.

The uniforms are complete with black and purple trim around the collar, arm holes, leg holes and down the sides of shorts that transitions through various shades of purple and is unique to each player.

The matching court features the “LA” logo at midcourt, the purple-to-black gradient effect from the uniforms behind the baseline and 17 stars along the sidelines, signifying the Lakers’ 17 championships.

This is the second alternate court in franchise history, joining last year’s In-Season Tournament design. They’ll also have one for the 2024 Emirates NBA Cup, as shown in last month’s NBA 2K25 leak.

The City Edition uniforms and court will make their debut on Nov. 21 against the Orlando Magic. The former notably includes a band in honor of the late Jerry West, matching the rest of the Lakers’ uniforms
