Week 7 of the 2024-25 NFL season kicked off on a high note, as the New Orleans Saints wore their 1967-68 throwback uniforms in Thursday night’s loss to the Denver Broncos.

Sunday morning’s game in London between the New England Patriots and Jacksonville Jaguars will have a throwback feel, as well, as the Patriots will wear silver pants with their white road jerseys for the first time since the 1999 season.

That was actually New England’s standard road look from 1993-99, preceding the uniforms that are synonymous with the Patriots’ six Super Bowl titles and featured navy over silver at home and white over navy on the road.

The Patriots notably wore white jerseys and silver pants in their Super Bowl XXXI loss to the Green Bay Packers, who – bringing us to our next note – will debut their new white alternate helmets on Sunday against the Houston Texans.

This marks the second white helmet in franchise history, as Green Bay briefly wore a white shell with a single green stripe down the center and a gray facemask from 1956-58. The new white helmets, on the other hand, include the Packers’ primary logo on the sides and a green and white striping pattern down the center, mimicking their standard gold lids.

The lack of gold on the helmets brings to mind the New York Jets’ 1998-2018 design, though they’ll be paired with Green Bay’s all-white Color Rush uniforms, which were introduced in 2016 and feature gold on the collar, sleeves and pants.

The Pittsburgh Steelers, meanwhile, will celebrate the 50th anniversary of their victory over the Minnesota Vikings in Super Bowl IX by wearing throwback uniforms in Sunday night’s game against the Jets.

The uniforms aren’t a significant departure from what the Steelers typically wear at home, with a traditional striping pattern on the sleeves, but they feature white block numbers instead of their current italicized digits.

They also feature a gray facemask, matching what the team wore during the 1974 season, and a commemorative patch on the left shoulder that includes their championship ring and Super Bowl IX logo in the design.

Pittsburgh is 4-0 in the throwback uniforms, though they previously featured a black facemask, including victories over the Cleveland Browns in 2018, Los Angeles Rams in 2019, Las Vegas Raiders in 2022 and the Packers in 2023.

The weekend wraps up with the Arizona Cardinals donning their all-black uniforms against the Los Angeles Chargers in one of two Monday Night Football games, the other being the Baltimore Ravens at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

This will mark the second of three appearances for the all-black uniform this season, joining the Cardinals’ loss to the Detroit Lions on Sept. 22 and their Dec. 8 matchup with the Seattle Seahawks. Arizona is 0-3 in the all-black uniforms since they debuted last season, also including losses to the Rams and Cincinnati Bengals in 2023.
