The search for a missing veteran from Wisconsin has ended tragically.
The body of military veteran Jason Neumann, 43, who was reported missing with a green alert on Tuesday, was found in Lake Michigan.
Neumann’s body was discovered in Lake Michigan, two miles north of the village of Cleveland in Wisconsin.
The Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office filed a missing person report after officers discovered Neumann’s SUV in Lake Michigan.
In a statement, the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office shared, “Our deepest sympathies go out to Jason’s family and friends during this difficult time.”
The office added, “At this point in the investigation, there is no indication of foul play.”

A missing military veteran was found dead just days after he was reported missing and his SUV was submerged in the water.
The Manitowoc Police Department said 43-year-old Jason Neumann’s body was found in Lake Michigan nearly 2 miles north of the village of Cleveland on Nov. 23.
A green alert was sent out on Nov. 19 for the disappearance of Neumann. He was a resident of Manitowoc. Neumann had been last seen on Nov. 18. His vehicle, a 2019 Toyota 4Runner SUV, was found by the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office on Nov. 19 in Lake Michigan along the shoreline in shallow water near the village of Cleveland.
Police expressed their deepest sympathies to Neumann’s family and friends during this difficult time.
Before his death, Jason was one of the 57 veterans selected for the honor flight “Freedom to Liberty.”
According to Freedom to Liberty’s website, the Freedom to Liberty flight “takes eligible veterans who served during the Global War on Terrorism to New York to visit the 9/11 Memorial & Museum.”
