Coming to Kyle Busch’s performance in 2024, the 39-year-old Las Vegas, Nevada, native had a tough season as he failed to earn a Cup win in a 36-race schedule. As a result, he lost his 19-year-long winning streak of at least one race in each season.

Kyle Busch reflects on his 2024 NASCAR Cup Series season

The #8 RCR Chevrolet ZL1 driver came close to the win on two occasions. The first was at Daytona International Speedway, where he fell short by 0.047 seconds to Harrison Burton, and the second time he lost to Chase Briscoe by 0.361 seconds at Darlington Raceway.

Kyle Busch started his new journey with RCR in style with three wins in the first half of the 2023 season, and since then he hasn’t been able to score a single win. He scored five top-fives, 10 top-10s, and led only 230 laps this season.

Describing his topsy-turvy 2024 season, Busch said (via NASCAR.com):

“Just not at all what we had hoped it to be after some success last year, especially early in the year having those three wins and then struggling a little bit on and off. But then this year, just seemingly not being able to get the monkey off our back. Even having a shot to win late in the day; being close at Daytona, and maybe even closer at Kansas, and not being able to pull through.”

“We probably had a handful of opportunities that slipped out from under us. So can’t say we never had an opportunity to, but obviously didn’t get it done.

The 2024 season might not have gone in favor of Busch, but he will look to bounce back next season, aiming to end his winless streak.

Kyle Busch will return to action in the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series season at Daytona International Speedway on Feb. 16. The Daytona 500 will kick off at 2:30 pm ET.
