Texas Rangers outfielder Adolis Garcia (oblique) avoided a major injury and is expected to be ready for Opening Day.

Rangers manager Bruce Bochy told reporters Wednesday that an MRI revealed Garcia suffered a mild strain, “not quite” a Grade 1.

Garcia was scratched from Tuesday’s spring training game against the Athletics after complaining of soreness in his left oblique.

Garcia saw his World Series run in 2023 cut short by an oblique injury.

Meanwhile, Bochy said that starting left fielder Wyatt Langford, who suffered a Grade 1 strain in his left oblique last month, could make his Spring Training debut sometime this week. Langford belted 16 home runs and drove in 74 runs in his rookie year in 2024.

Garcia, 32, batted .224 with 25 homers and 85 RBIs in 154 games last season.

A two-time All-Star, Garcia is a career .239 hitter with 122 homers and 384 RBIs in 631 games.
