Taraji P. Henson is uninterested in working her butt off in Hollywood and being paid a fraction of what she feels she’s value … getting emotional over what she says is a big pay hole.
The actress broke down in tears when requested if she was critically contemplating quitting appearing, telling Gayle King she feels unsure about her on-screen profession, and cash’s the primary issue.
Taraji says she’s nonetheless being underpaid for giant film roles regardless of being a well-established and tremendous well-known actress … reaching a boiling level.
The best way Taraji explains it … even when she’s paid $10 million for a film, she will not see wherever close to that when the mud settles … taxes take an enormous chunk after which she’s received to interrupt off a bunch of cash for her group.
Taraji says … “the math ain’t mathin” …. and it feels like this has been a difficulty for her going again some time now.
In her interview with Gayle, through which she’s plugging her new film “The Color Purple,” Taraji remembers her contract for ‘Benjamin Button’ … she says she was asking for $500,000 and was solely paid $100,000.
Taraji’s gone on to do tons of films and win awards, however she says each time she thinks she’s damaged by, she’s humbled on the negotiating desk.
It is an emotional dialog … and Taraji shouldn’t be alone on this boat in Hollywood.
