The Seattle Storm are gearing up to take on the Phoenix Mercury at Footprint Center on Saturday. It hasn’t been smooth sailing off late for the Storm, as they’ve lost three of their last four games. But they have held their own for the most part and are fourth (4-4) in the Western Conference.
The Storm have relied on their star duo of Skylar Diggins and Nneka Ogwumike. Diggins is averaging 16.8 points and 6.4 assists, shooting an efficient 44.9%, while Ogwumike has been stellar in the paint, averaging 16.5 points and 9.0 rebounds per game.
The Mercury, meanwhile, have relied on Satou Sabally and for good reason, as she’s having one of the best years of her career, averaging 20.3 points, 8.0 rebounds and 2.7 assists. However, she could be more efficient, shooting only shooting 40.5%.
Alyssa Thomas has also been a positive sight for the Mercury, recording 15.2 points and 7.6 rebounds per game. Together, they’ve led Phoenix to third in the Western Conference.
The two teams have met twice this season, winning a game each, as they look to win their regular-season series.
