Edits Gets Updated Reels Insights, Safe Zone Mapping, and More

Another week, and another couple of updates for Meta’s video editing app “Edits,” with Meta adding an improved insights UI, safe zone mapping in the editor, keyframe curves, and more.

First off, Meta’s updated the Edits analytics UI, making it easier to switch between your creations and see how they’ve performed comparatively.

So now you can get quick insights into all of your Reels clips, and see which performed best in each category, which will make it easier to capitalize on key elements.

Meta’s also added safe zone mapping to the Edits composer, so you can see where the function buttons on Instagram and Facebook will intrude on the playback window, while it’s also added “snap to edge” to help align your content.

It’s also added keyframe curves for more control over animations in your clips, as well as a new progress overview for exports from the app.

Some handy additions, which add to the already packed functionality of the app, as Meta continues to add more and more editing and creation features.

Indeed, since launching the app back in April, Meta has added:

  • A range of additional fonts, filters and voice effects
  • Simplified transition editing
  • Playback frame rate selector
  • Beat markers for soundtrack alignment
  • Enhanced cropping options
  • Improved tracking sensitivity
  • Volume level editing
  • In-stream teleprompter
  • AI restyling options
  • Sticky notes for reference
  • Noise reduction tools
  • Expanded export options
  • Keyframe editing
  • Royalty-free music selection

And even that list is a summary, and this is in addition to the core video editing and creation tools that it had at launch.

Yeah, it’s quickly become a key video editing tool, rivaling other, often paid options, on the market.

Really, if you’re creating short-form video, you should be using Edits, or you should at least try it out and see what you can come up with, using its expanding array of tools.
