On the morning of September 28, 2025, chaos erupted at a Mormon church in Grand Blanc, Michigan, when a gunman reportedly opened fire during services.
The attack took place at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on McCandlish Road, leaving multiple victims, though the exact toll has not yet been confirmed. In a further blow, the church caught fire during the incident, triggering a massive fourth-alarm emergency response.
Authorities are investigating the tragedy and have not said whether the shooter has been shot and is dead or alive. Reports are coming out saying that the gunman is “down.”
So far, police are reporting 6-8 victims. The church was also reportedly set on fire at the same time and is now engulfed in flames.

Only moments ago, Jessica Dupnack of Fox 2 News shared a post on Facebook: Reports of an active shooter at Grand Blanc Township church. At this point, it is believed that 6-8 shooting victims are unclear on the conditions. Sources say the shooter is “down.” It appears the shooter also set the church on fire. It is currently fully engulfed.
