This week is an exciting one for WWE fans as we inch closer to the Crown Jewel PLE in Perth. Along the way is a finals showdown on LFG, along with potential matches being announced for Crown Jewel. Let us see what is on the docket for this week in WWE, starting with Sunday.
Tonight, is the finale for LFG (Legends and Future Greats) and features a few familiar faces. On the women’s side is Penina Tuilaepa against Dani Sekelsy. Both competed in the first installment of LFG, but fell short of the finals. Now, they get a chance to redeem themselves. Penina has the look and the in-ring talent to be a potential winner, while Sekelsy has been consistent in her overall work throughout the season.
On the men’s side, only one spot is locked in. Shiloh Hill has another chance to get an NXT contract after being the runner-up last season. He is filled with intensity, possesses a strong in-ring arsenal, and even has a humorous side. His opponent will be determined tonight. It will be either Harlem Lewis or Drake Morreaux in the finals to take on Hill. The coaches landed on a tie with Booker T and Michelle McCool picking Lewis, while Undertaker and Bubba Ray chose Morreaux. This means that Shawn Michaels will be the tiebreaker and select the finalist tonight. Only one male and female will earn an NXT contract. Tune in for all the action on A&E tonight at 9 PM.
Next up is Monday Night Raw, which will return its regular start time of 7PM. Taking place in Dallas, Texas, there is plenty to be excited about. The go-home show for Raw, let’s look at what’s advertised for the show. Roman Reigns is announced to kick off the show. The Tribal Chief will look to address his return to the ring and we could see a Bloodline reunion. Another superstar that will appear is CM Punk. Punk is coming off a victory against Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch at WrestlePalooza. What will he have to say? Fans will have to wait to find out.
Only one match has been announced, and that is Lyra Valkyria against Roxanne Perez. This should be a good one as both have a solid in-ring arsenal. Valkyria has been dealing with troubles from the Judgment Day and looks to lay them to rest. Meanwhile, Perez is looking to stand out ahead of Crown Jewel.
From WWE to NXT, there’s a premiere event taking place on Wednesday. NXT vs TNA Showdown looks to be one for the ages. TNA captains Mike Santana and Kelani Jordan will lead a men’s and women’s team to take on NXT, whose captains are Ricky Saints and Jacy Jayne. This event will also feature a tag team collision. The NXT North American Champion, Ethan Page, will defend his title against Mustafa Ali. See which brand will have bragging rights by the end of the night.
Then there is the final pitstop before Crown Jewel. Friday Night SmackDown will be taking place in Perth, Australia. There are two championship matches advertised for the show.
The Street Profits will take on the Wyatt Sicks for the Tag Team Champions. The Profits have tension in their tag team, but look to unite for a chance at the gold. Sami Zayn will host a US Open Challenge for his United States Championship. Last week, Aleister Black answered the challenge but lost after Damian Priest interfered. Black and Priest will face off in a Last Man Standing Match that could cap off their rivalry. Meanwhile, Crown Jewel opponents will team up in champions Stephanie Vaquer and Tiffany Stratton. Just one day before their duel, Vaquer and Stratton will look to fend off Guila and Kiana James.
Lastly, there is the Crown Jewel in Perth, Australia. John Cena is advertised to be at the event and compete against AJ Styles in what should be a phenomenal match. Hometown hero Rhea Ripley will team up with Iyo Sky to take on the Kabuki Warriors (Asuka and Kaire Sane). Ripley will no doubt have one of the biggest pops in the event. As mentioned earlier, Vaquer and Stratton will compete for the Crown Jewel champion. While Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins will add on to their rivalry in their path to becoming the Crown Jewel champion.
It looks to be a week for the ages in WWE, with an NXT contract up for grabs. In addition to that, Monday Night Raw is shaping up to be a star-studded event. Lastly, WWE heads to Perth for two nights, and has yet to announce when and where WWE Monday Raw will take place. We will have to see as WWE focuses on its road to Crown Jewel.
