The USD is trading higher and at new highs for the three major currency pairs – the EURUSD, USDJPY and GBPUSD – as the North American session begins. IN the video above, I take a look at those three major currency pairs from a technical perspective to kickstart the US session.
IN other markets, the US indices are trading higher a day after the S&P and NASDAQ indices closed at record levels. A snapshot of the market currently shows modest gains:
- Dow industrial average up 30 points
- S&P index up 3.47 points
- NASDAQ index up 31.44 points
In the US debt market, yields are marginally higher:
- 2-year yield 3.602%, +0.6 basis points
- 5 year yield 3.751%, +0.7 basis points
- 10 year yield 4.169%, +0.7 basis points
- 30 year yield 4.762%, +0.4 basis points
Canada trade balance will be released at 8:30 AM ET with expectations at -5.55 billion. The IVY PMI data will be released at 10 AM. Last month, index came in at 50.1 seasonally adjusted.
