Drew McIntyre breaks character to ship heartfelt message forward of RAW

Drew McIntyre broke character to send a heartfelt message ahead of this week’s edition of WWE RAW. Tonight’s episode of the red brand will air live from New Mexico and is the first show following Saturday Night’s Main Event.

McIntyre’s brother, John Galloway, took to social media today to share a tribute to his mother, who sadly passed away thirteen years ago. He noted that his mother would always be his guiding light, and McIntyre reacted to the message with a heart emoji. You can check out the heartwarming message in the post below.

Drew McIntyre competed in a marquee match over the weekend at Saturday Night’s Main Event. He challenged Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship but came up short in the match.

The American Nightmare hit McIntyre with a DDT on top of the title while the referee was distracted and then followed it up with the Cross Rhodes for the pinfall victory. Rhodes also defeated McIntyre last month at Wrestlepalooza to retain the title.

Former WWE writer complains about Drew McIntyre’s booking

Wrestling legend Vince Russo recently took the company to task for how Drew McIntyre has been booked on WWE television this year.

Speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling’s BroDown show, Russo stated that the company has given Solo Sikoa and McIntyre nothing to work with this year. He praised both stars as performers and wondered why the promotion had nothing creative for them to do on the show.

“Who has done the most with what they’ve been given? That’s what we have to look at. I’ve said this before – I think Solo Sikoa has improved leaps and bounds. Yes, they give him absolute s**t, and that’s why he is where he is. When you’ve got five Samoans in War Paint bailing from a guy and a girl [Nikki Cross of Wyatt Sicks], you’re not getting them over. Period, end of story. I think with what he’s been given, and Drew [McIntyre]. Just give Drew a big box of s**t and tell him to go do something with it. Drew is unbelievable. I’m sure he’s getting paid a lot of money. I don’t get how he’s had the patience to keep shut this long.”

Drew McIntyre’s character needs a significant reset. I feel like he hasn’t been the same since they (out of nowhere) dropped that incredible Bloodline Hunter story arc. This was the perfect story for him. Such a shame.

Only time will tell what WWE has planned for Drew McIntyre in the weeks ahead following his loss at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
