Minecraft will soon be getting the final version of the camel husk mob with the Mounts of Mayhem update. The addition of new mobs, both passive and hostile, is a great thing for players as it increases the immersiveness of the blocky world. The camel husk will be the undead version of the camel mob and you might have the question; what makes this mob different from the regular camel?
The camel and the camel husk are very similar in terms of behavior but there are some differences that make them stand apart. This article will mention the major differences between these two mobs and whether one is better than the other.
How different is camel husk from normal camels in Minecraft?
A normal camel spawns in the desert biome and you can ride it by putting the saddle on. Two players can ride this mob at the same time, making it a great way of transportation while playing multiplayer mode.
As the theme of Minecraft Mounts of Mayhem is all about different mobs that can be ridden, the developers decided to add a version of camel that can be ridden by hostile mobs as well.
The camel husk is somewhat a rare mob that spawns in the desert biome during thunderstorms or at night with the husk zombie and a parched mob riding it. The parched is also an upcoming hostile mob that is the desert version of the skeleton mob. In fact, many fans are calling it the equivalent of a “mummy.”
Once you get rid of the husk and the parched, the camel husk becomes a passive mob that you can ride. It has the same dimensions as the normal camel with the same 32 health points or 16 hearts. However, it has a darker texture with exposed ribs to show the undead nature of the camel.
Coming to the differences, the camel husk can be ridden underwater just like skeleton horses, something that normal camels cannot do. Instead of feeding on cactus like normal camels for healing, you will have to feed the camel husk rabbit’s foot to heal it. Also, camel husks cannot breed and drop rotten flesh when killed.
Since the camel husk is still under development, you can expect more features to be added or tweaked when the final version is released later this year. Mounts of Mayhem game drop is still getting improvement and some substantial changes. There is no exact release date for the update, but you can expect it to come to Minecraft by the end of this year.
