It appears the 2025-26 NHL season isn’t done with new uniforms quite yet.
Thanks to a post from @ShatteredLensTX, we’ve learned that the Dallas Stars were practicing while wearing a new pants design. Check it out:
The black pants feature “DALLAS” in silver, laid out vertically in between two green vertical bars. It’s similar in design to what the Stars wore during their first six seasons in Texas from 1993-94 through their Stanley Cup Championship at the end of the 1998-99 season. The Stars have brought this style back twice in the quarter-century since, both as part of the Reverse Retro program in 2020-21 and again in 2022-23.
Recently, the Dallas Stars dropped their black and neon green third uniforms, leading many to speculate that the club would introduce something new. As these pants are very similar to the Stars’ designs of the 1990s, it suggests we will likely see a throwback style uniform whenever they introduce this new uniform.

It may come as a surprise to non-Stars fans that the club has been fairly quiet in the third uniform game. Though they’ve been the only NHL team ever to win a Stanley Cup while wearing an alternate uniform, the Stars have had just one third uniform design over the past 15 years, opting to go without one from 2011-12 through 2019-20.
As for when these mystery uniforms may be revealed, we can call on the Colorado Avalanche to help out here. The Avs first wore their Nordiques pants at practice on October 10th, eleven days before they were unveiled on October 21st. If the Stars follow the same timeline, they would unveil these sometime around November 14th.
