Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green has suggested a name to replace Brian Daboll as the New York Giants’ head coach. Green made the suggestion on a recent episode of the show “Why Is Draymond Green Talking About Football?” with co-host Jordan Schultz.
Schultz asked the four-time NBA champion who he’ll hire for the Giants’ head coaching role if he was the general manager or owner. Green responded:
“I know people are going to hate this name. He’s supposed to be great with quarterbacks. But more importantly, he can handle what comes with New York. He’s got the demeanor. I think New York natives will love him. I think they should hire Jon Gruden.”

Gruden hasn’t coached in the NFL since 2021, when he was in charge of the Las Vegas Raiders. He resigned from the Raiders in 2021 in the heat of a scandal that saw his emails contain racist, misogynistic, and homophobic language.
Draymond Green blames lack of team commitment for blowout loss to Oklahoma City Thunder
Draymond Green’s Golden State Warriors were dealt a 126-102 loss by the Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday to go 6-6 as they start their season. Green was not happy with the result and blamed it on himself and his teammates. He said:
“I think everybody was committed to winning and doing that anyway possible. And right now it doesn’t feel that way?”
“I think everyone has a personal agenda in this league. But you have to make those personal agendas work in the team confines.”
The Warriors won their last game against the San Antonio Spurs, with fans hoping it sets them on a winning run. They face the Spurs again on Saturday.
