It appears that a heavyweight boxing match between Jake Paul and Anthony Joshua is set to go down next month. Given Joshua’s resume as a professional boxer, it’s no surprise that fans are strongly backing the Englishman to secure a dominant victory over the former Disney star.
Paul was initially set to face Gervonta Davis in an exhibition fight this weekend in Miami. However, Davis’ former partner filed a civil lawsuit against him for alleged battery, aggravated battery, false imprisonment, kidnapping, and intentional infliction of emotional distress. As a result, their fight was officially called off.
After Francis Ngannou turned down an offer to replace Davis, it appears Paul finally has his next opponent booked. According to veteran boxing journalist Mike Coppinger, Paul and Joshua are slated to throw down in a professional heavyweight fight on Friday, Dec.19.

Earlier this year, Jake Paul expressed his desire to fight Anthony Joshua in the ring and vowed to defeat the Englishman. The former Disney star also claimed that ‘AJ’ didn’t have the skills or the chin to hold his own against him in a fight.
In an episode of the BS w/ Jake Paul podcast (via @HappyPunch on X), ‘The Problem Child’ opened up about wanting to fight Joshua and said:
“I know my boundaries. Here’s the thing: I want to fight Anthony Joshua, exclusive, because I know that I will f**king beat Anthony Joshua’s a**. He doesn’t have a chin, and he has no skill, and he’s stiff. And I love you, Anthony. We’re friends, all this sh*t, but I want to fight you.”
