Gilbert Arenas‘ ex, Laura Govan, penned a heartfelt message for her daughter, Hamiley Arenas, after the Notre Dame guard suffered a season-ending injury. On Friday, Govan shared pictures of his daughter’s visit to the hospital.
In the first picture, Hamiley is seen sitting in a wheelchair with her left foot in a protective brace. In another photo, she is seen walking using crutches for support. Govan announced her daughter’s retirement from the season with an emotional message in the post’s caption.

In July, Gilbert Arenas’ son, Alijah Arenas, tore his meniscus, which ruled him out of his freshman season at USC Trojans. Hamiley’s injury now adds to the grief as two rising basketball stars with the Arenas’ last name have to spend the season on the sidelines.

The Kansas State Wildcats opened their NCAA season with a 100-35 win over the Omaha Mavericks. Gilbert Arenas’ daughter, Izela Arenas, delivered a strong performance in the season opener. She finished with 18 points, four rebounds and three assists on 8 of 12 shooting from the field.
Izela’s mother, Laura Govan, hyped up her oldest daughter on her Instagram account after she helped her team secure the win. She shared a video montage consisting of Izela’s highlights from the game. She accompanied a motivational message in the post’s caption.

Izela Arenas is currently a sophomore for the Kansas City Wildcats. She is averaging 10.3 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game on 44.7% shooting from the field. She will next be in action against the Texas A&M Aggies on Sunday.
