New Orleans Saints To Debut New All-Black Uniform Combination On Sunday – SportsLogos.Net News

The New Orleans Saints will take advantage of the NFL’s relaxed uniforms rules by wearing their black alternate helmets with their black home jerseys and black pants during Sunday’s game against the Atlanta Falcons (4:25 p.m. ET on FOX).

The glossy black helmets, which were unveiled after the league scrapped its one-helmet rule in 2022, feature New Orleans’ primary logo on both sides and a fleur-de-lis pattern down the center that resembles the feather pattern on the Seattle Seahawks’ standard navy blue helmets.

They were initially paired with the Saints’ all-white Color Rush uniforms, which have been worn every season since 2016, but they went 0-4 in the combination before wearing them with their new gold alternate jerseys in a loss to the Arizona Cardinals in this year’s season opener.

As mentioned, teams are now permitted to mix-and-match uniform pieces, as the league revised its rules this offseason after previously requiring teams to wear their standard helmets with their home or road jerseys and their alternate helmets with their alternate jerseys.

New Orleans becomes the third team to do so this season, joining the Denver Broncos, who wore their standard navy blue helmets with their navy blue alternate jerseys in a win over the Cincinnati Bengals on Sept. 29, and the Philadelphia Eagles, who wore their black alternate helmets with their white road jerseys in a win at the Green Bay Packers on Nov. 10.

This marks the fourth alternate uniform worn by the Saints this season, as they also wore their new white alternate helmets and Color Rush uniforms in a loss at the Seattle Seahawks on Sept. 21 and a win at the Carolina Panthers on Nov. 9, maxing out the number of times a team can wear an alternate or throwback design each year.
