Plans by a conservative political group to stage a mass gathering at Disneyland next year have drawn widespread attention after the chosen date overlapped with an existing LGBTQ+ fan event. According to coverage from Fox 11 Los Angeles and Theme Park Tribune on November 21, 2025, the 805 Patriots, a Southern California–based group, have announced a “MAGA invasion” at Disneyland on February 28, 2026, the same day as “Mini Gay Days,” a long-running LGBTQ+ community meetup unaffiliated with Disney.
While neither event is sanctioned by the theme park, the scheduling has raised concerns about potential tensions between attendees. Celebrity blogger Perez Hilton reacted to the news in a report published on November 21, 2025, saying the two gatherings are now effectively “set for a collision course,” as online posts from the organizers suggest they view the overlap as an opportunity to provoke confrontation. The blogger posted,
“But there you have it: a MAGA outing set for a collision course with one of the park’s most beloved LGBTQ+ fan traditions”
More about The 805 Patriots’ planned ‘MAGA Invasion’ at Disneyland
The 805 Patriots began promoting the event on social media, calling for supporters to visit Disneyland in red MAGA hats and “Patriots in the Park” T-shirts. Fox 11 Los Angeles reported that the group described the gathering as a “MAGA invasion” scheduled for February 28, 2026. The merchandise includes shirts and hoodies with slogans such as “Make Disney Great Again,” as reported by the Theme Park Tribune.
The group, which Perez Hilton noted has tens of thousands of followers across Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok, framed the day as an opportunity for families to experience the park “with as many like-minded patriots as possible.”
In comments highlighted by Theme Park Tribune on November 21, 2025, organizers said the intent was to “trigger as many liberals as possible” at the park. The group also posted that the date “accidentally” coincided with an LGBTQ+ event and claimed it would be “hilarious to ruin their day.”
Disneyland is not involved in the organization, and its policies prohibit flags, unauthorized demonstrations, and attire deemed disruptive. While political clothing is not explicitly banned, the park reserves the right to deny admission to guests whose clothing is considered inappropriate.
The 805 Patriots have advised attendees not to bring flags, acknowledging the park’s rules. Disneyland has not commented on either event.
Mini Gay Days confirms they will proceed with their event as planned
“Mini Gay Days,” affiliated with the larger Gay Days Anaheim tradition dating to the early 1990s, was already scheduled for February 28, 2026. Theme Park Tribune reported that Eddie Shapiro, the event’s producer, confirmed there would be “no changes to our plans,” stating the event will continue as it has since 2003.
The LGBTQ+ fan gathering includes meetups and social activities throughout the park and, like all fan-organized days, is not officially part of the Disneyland event calendar.
Disneyland has not indicated that it intends to alter operations or scheduling. The presence of two large, ideologically distinct groups on the same date, however, has drawn broader media attention because of the possibility of disruptions, even though the theme park’s rules give staff wide discretion to address behavior they consider harmful or distracting.
