Luka Doncic Impresses Snoop Dogg by Choosing Slovenian Pre-Game Music Over Rap

Rap legend Snoop Dogg dropped by the UCLA Health Training Center on Friday to meet Luka Doncic and the LA Lakers’ entire roster. The “Young, Wild & Free” artist appeared in the Lakers’ training center for an exclusive interview with the Slovenian.

Doncic responded when the rapper asked him if he listens to music before games:

“I have mostly music from my country.”

Snoop Dogg interrupted:

“I love that! It’s inspirational, right? I love the fact that you are culturally into your music like you’re not trying to listen to rap, listen to this.”

Doncic continued that he listens to everything and shared that he uses the Crypto.com Arena speakers to get into a zone before games. The “Gin & Juice II” hitmaker almost couldn’t believe Doncic would put his music on blast.

Snoop Dogg thought Luka Doncic’s music mostly featured violins before the superstar point guard corrected him. Doncic said that the accordion is often the highlight of what he listens to, prompting the rapper to ask him for a song list.

The former Dallas Mavericks superstar is a music lover. Last month, he dropped what he called a “Fuego” playlist on Spotify that was well-received by fans. Instead of Slovenian music, his collection was heavy on Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny.

Snoop Dogg clarifies rumors Luka Doncic talked trash to him during 2024 NBA playoffs

Snoop Dogg watched Game 5 of the Western Conference finals between the Dallas Mavericks and Minnesota Timberwolves. Luka Doncic, who ran rings around the Timberwolves in the pivotal showdown, hit an and-1 with 7:54 left in the third quarter.

After hitting the basket, Doncic lashed out at somebody from behind the basket, where the legendary rapper sat. Many, including Reggie Miller, who covered the game for TNT, thought Doncic talked trash to the West Coast rap icon.

During the interview with Doncic on Friday, Snoop Dogg clarified the whole situation.

“I gotta bring this up, Luka. When you was in Game 5 playing with the Mavericks against Minnesota, I was sitting next to somebody that just wouldn’t shut the f**k up.

“They thought you was talking about me. I said, ‘No, no, no. I’m not a Minnesota fan. I’m just sitting in the crowd. Luka’s talking to him!'”

Luka Doncic agreed, which caused Snoop Dogg to smile and comment that “we’ve cleared that up.”
