Coco Gauff wastes no time in burning off Thanksgiving energy as she hits the tennis courtroom for pre-season coaching

Coco Gauff took the practice court after Thanksgiving and promised to burn off some calories before the next season begins.

Coco Gauff ended her season at the year-end Championships, where she triumphed in the 2024 edition, the youngest female to win the title since Maria Sharapova in 2004. This year, she missed her chance to defend her title, but didn’t cap her season with a heavy heart; rather promised to return stronger in 2026.

Just days before the United Cup, the American No. 1 celebrated Thanksgiving with her close ones and even baked potato pies by staying awake way past midnight. However, after a string of satisfying meals, she decided to burn some calories at the tennis court, before the next season begins.

“We back. Gotta work off those thanksgiving calories”

Gauff loves to spend time with her family. She was part of a Karaoke night with her siblings and cousins, singing and dancing the night away, with her brothers matching steps in the background, as she posted on her Instagram stories. Her captions read:

“Love my family sm”

Didn’t go live this year lol but here’s my karaoke set for this year. Elevated it with some back ground dancers.”

Gauff made history by earning the Roland Garros title this year, her second Grand Slam victory after the 2023 US Open.

Coco Gauff was an integral part of the team that won the title against Poland in the United Cup at the beginning of the 2025 season. After that, she advanced to the quarterfinals at the Australian Open and went on to make waves in the clay season, and finally won the Wuhan Open title, the first American player to win it since Venus Williams a decade ago.

After her loss in the WTA Finals, the 21-year-old reflected on her season and expressed pride in her achievements, and also embraced her ups and downs.

“My 2025 season is officially over and it was a longggg one. I played my first match of this season December 29th, 2024 and my last match of the season November 6th, 2025. It was filled with some disappointments but mainly positives and when I look back at it, I feel proud of all the things I accomplished. I love this sport and I am grateful for all of its ups and downs”

She added:

“Very few feelings come close to the euphoria you feel when you are living in a dream come true or a prayer come to fruition and I am eternally grateful to God for these experiences and the opportunity to feel this feeling constantly. Thank you guys for your love and support, thank you to my family, my friends, my team, and God. Time for a little rest and then back to the grind….see you guys back on court next year, we uppppp.”

Coco Gauff spent her off-season with her boyfriend, Jalen Sera, as well, enjoying their time in Los Angeles and attending the Camp Flog Gnaw carnival.
