The Toronto International Film Festival was the venue for the 2025 world premiere of the film on September 6, and the limited theatrical release followed on November 26.

What happens in the movie and who stars in it?
Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery focuses on Reverend Jud Duplenticy, a former boxing champion turned priest who, after being involved in a fight at his previous parish, is sent to a troubled rural ministry. Upon arrival, Jud finds that Monsignor Jefferson Wicks, a church leader who is not liked by the community and whose family tree is connected to the long-rumored inheritance, is at the center of the tension.
Things take a turn for the worse when Wicks is found dead on Good Friday, stabbed with a weapon that seems to be directly linked to Jud. As suspicion within the congregation grows, Benoit Blanc is the detective brought in to help, thus beginning the mystery of the film.
Even though the police are doubtful, Blanc gets Jud to help him with the investigation. While interviewing the parishioners, they uncover more and more clues about the disappearing fortune, the disloyalty among people, and a hidden diamond, which is believed to be the key to the inheritance worth a lot.
More deaths start to appear, including those of church-related people, and the case takes a turn when it is revealed that the killing was planned and that there are layers of deception.
Martha, a faithful church helper, turns out to be the one who plays the most significant role in the ending, unveiling the reasons the motives that are connected to the heritage, desperation, and secrets buried for a long time. It is the diamond that finally reveals the investigation to be over, thus completing the main puzzle of Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery.
