The Milwaukee Brewers will bring powder blue back on the road in 2026 with the introduction of a new alternate uniform unveiled this afternoon. The jersey recalls the look the club carried for more than a decade after inheriting the colour from the Seattle Pilots in 1970, a stretch that included Milwaukee’s 1982 American League championship and its only World Series appearance.
The new design features a powder blue base with “MILWAUKEE” arched across the chest in navy blue trimmed in yellow. Player numbers mirror the wordmark in navy with a yellow outline. Each sleeve includes a single yellow stripe bordered in navy; the Brewers’ state of Wisconsin secondary logo is added as a patch to one sleeve, and a powder blue and yellow version of their Northwestern Mutual ad patch is on the other. The uniform is paired with Milwaukee’s navy blue cap with a yellow front panel and their familiar “mb” ball-in-glove logo on the crown. Pants remain the team’s standard road grey with the blue-yellow-blue stripe down each leg.

According to the club, this uniform will replace the Brewers’ road grey option in the rotation beginning in 2026, though it remains unclear whether the powder blue or the existing navy road alternate jersey will be designated as the primary set for away games.
From their first season in Milwaukee in 1970 through the end of 1985, the Brewers wore powder blue exclusively on the road, switching to grey for 1986. The colour returned in 2023 as part of the club’s “Brew Crew” City Connect uniform. With the removal of their grey jersey, the Brewers join the Seattle Mariners and Tampa Bay Rays as MLB clubs no longer carrying a traditional road grey.
In the release announcing today’s update, the Brewers noted the jersey was a tribute to their teams and players of the 1970s and 1980s, with its use of Brewers yellow and navy blue tying together the club’s earlier palette with those introduced during their 1994 major redesign.
“We want this jersey to represent the Milwaukee aesthetic – vibrant, historic and full of character, while also serving as a bridge to the past and present eras of Brewers baseball,” Brewers President of Business Operations Rick Schlesinger said in the press release. “Powder blue is a nostalgic colour for baseball fans, and we’ve reimagined it in a way that feels fresh and uniquely ours.”

The new powder blue alternate will make its on-field debut during 2026 Spring Training, suggesting this will also serve as their primary Spring jersey option. A limited run of replica jerseys and a matching merchandise collection will be available at the Brewers Team Store beginning tomorrow, Friday, December 5, at 8 a.m. CT. The launch coincides with the team’s annual Clubhouse Sale, which runs from December 5-7.
Following the franchise’s relocation from Seattle just days before the 1970 regular season, the Brewers were essentially forced into retaining the Pilots’ blue-and-yellow colour scheme, which included powder blue road uniforms. Milwaukee didn’t develop a colour scheme of their own until 1994, when they switched to navy blue, gold, and green. The green was dropped in 2000, and the gold was flipped back to yellow in 2020 on the 50th anniversary of their first season in Wisconsin.
