The Pittsburgh Steelers will wear their all-black Color Rush uniforms for the first and only time this season when they host the Miami Dolphins on Monday Night Football, with kickoff set for 8:20 p.m. on ESPN.
The uniforms, which were introduced in 2016 as part of a league-wide promotion, feature the Steelers’ standard black helmets, black jerseys with gold block numbers and gold stripes on the sleeves, black pants with a single gold stripe down the sides and black socks.
Pittsburgh is 8-3 in the thread since they were unveiled, wearing them at least once every year, including a 27-14 win over the Dolphins on Monday Night Football in 2019. That was especially notable in that Miami countered with the road version of its 1966 throwback uniforms.
This marks just the second time this season the Steelers have deviated from their standard home or road looks, as they wore their new 1933 throwback uniforms – complete with new gold helmets – in a 35-25 loss to the Green Bay Packers on Sunday Night Football on Oct. 26.
They announced the dates for their alternate and throwback uniforms prior to the season, so it’s unlikely they’ll break out either design for their lone remaining home game against the Baltimore Ravens on Jan. 4 – a game in which the AFC North division title will likely be on the line.
Additionally, the Steelers have also painted the natural grass field at Acrisure Stadium with a Three Rivers Stadium-inspired design that features gold end zones with “Pittsburgh” and “Steelers” wordmarks between AFC and NFL logos.
This has been a go-to, late-season design for Pittsburgh since 2022, when the franchise celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Immaculate Reception. It will likely remain intact for the upcoming game against the Ravens, as well.
