AEW star Ricochet recently showed his support for a WWE veteran who is looking to disassociate from the global sports entertainment juggernaut. While the One and Only plays a heel on social media, he broke character to back up a veteran. Mick Foley, one of the most beloved wrestling legends, took a big step by stepping away from WWE due to its association with U.S. President Donald Trump. The latter’s recent comments have left the world stunned.
A few days ago, Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele, were murdered in their home. While the whole world mourned, Donald Trump decided to mock Rob and spread his propaganda instead of paying respect to the deceased. It was only after this comment that the former Hardcore Champion announced his separation from WWE, as the company was heavily connected with Trump. Foley is currently on a Legends deal, but clarified that he won’t renew it when it expires in June 2026.
Many veterans from the pro wrestling industry showed their support for Mick Foley on social media. AEW star Ricochet also took to X and gave a ‘shout out’ to the WWE legend’s bold decision.
“Big shout out!” he wrote.
AEW star Ricochet refuses to return to WWE
The reigning AEW National Champion was one of the best high-flyers in the global sports entertainment juggernaut. However, in 2024, he left WWE to come to AEW. Despite his skills, he was never considered a top star at the Stamford-based company. However, AEW has given him a good push in the past year.
A fan recently talked about Ricochet’s WWE comeback. The latter quickly denied returning to his previous company with a two-word message.
“No, thank you.”
It remains to be seen whether Mick Foley’s shocking exit triggers a domino effect and prompts more departures from WWE.
