Donald Trump revealed his New Year’s resolution ahead of the New Year’s Eve celebration at Mar-a-Lago, Florida. He wished for world peace in 2026 and also claimed that the US is doing great under his leadership.
Donald Trump hosted the New Year’s Eve celebration at his Mar-a-Lago resort, which was also attended by numerous big names. This includes Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his wife, among others. The President of the United States attended the event with his wife, Melania.
Fox News shared a video on X (formerly Twitter), where a journalist asked the POTUS about his New Year’s Resolution outside the event. He answered:
“Peace. Peace on Earth.”
Meanwhile, inside the gala, the 79-year-old spoke about how well the US is doing, saying:
“We’re taking in hundreds of millions of dollars in tariffs. We’re doing great as a country. We’re back. We’re strong. I didn’t think it could happen this fast. It’s happening faster than anybody thought possible.”
Earlier in the day, he had announced on his Truth Social account that the National Guard in Chicago, Los Angeles, and Portland would be withdrawn.
Donald Trump received FIFA’s inaugural Peace Prize this year

The President of the United States campaigned for the Nobel Peace Prize. He didn’t win, as María Corina Machado Parisca received the coveted award. However, the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) introduced a new Peace Prize this year and awarded Donald Trump with it.
The US is set to host the 2026 FIFA World Cup with Canada and Mexico. During the draw at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, DC, on December 6, FIFA President Gianni Infantino introduced the award. He said:
“This is what we want from a leader; A leader that cares about the people. We want to live in a safe world, in a safe environment. We want to unite – that’s what we do here today, that’s what we’ll do at the (FIFA) World Cup, Mr President.”
He further told Trump:
“You definitely deserve the first FIFA Peace Prize for your action, for what you have obtained in your way, but you have obtained it in an incredible way. You can always count, Mr President, on my support, on the support of the entire football community – or “soccer” community – to help you make peace and make the world prosper all over the world.”
Donald Trump, meanwhile, accepted the award and said:
“This is truly one of the great honors of my life – and beyond.”
He also spoke about his achievements and claimed that the US has been doing better since his appointment as the President in 2025. He claimed that he had allegedly helped stop multiple wars across the world and added:
“I don’t need prizes. I need to save lives. I saved millions and millions of lives, and that’s really what I want to do.”
Notably, on New Year’s Eve, ahead of his Mar-a-Lago event, the POTUS slammed numerous Democrats and political opponents, telling them to “rot in hell”.
