Altoona Curve to play as Pennsylvania Continentals in tribute to America 250 – SportsLogos.Net News

The Altoona Curve, Double-A Affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates in Minor League Baseball’s Eastern League, will commemorate the United States’ semiquincentennial by playing five games in 2026 as the Pennsylvania Continentals. The primary identity features an outline of the state of Pennsylvania, with 13 stars (for 13 colonies) circled around Independence Hall, the building 200 miles to the east in Philadelphia where the Declaration of Independence and US Constitution were adopted.

The nickname Pennsylvania Continentals is an homage to the so-called Pennsylvania Line, a formation within the Continental Army during the Revolutionary War. The identity includes an altered version of the team’s engineer character, who appears as though he could be a member of one of the Pennsylvania Line’s regiments from 1776.

The Curve will play as the Continentals May 22, June 25, July 10, August 15, and September 12.
