Former longtime ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world champion Nong-O Hama believes his protege and teammate, Rambolek Chor Ajalaboon, could be on the cusp of something special should he win his next promotional battle.
The Thai slugger, who shares the mats with the living legend daily at Superbon Training Camp, has been in fine form throughout his journey in ONE Championship.
He heads into his next battle in the main event of ONE Fight Night 39 riding four back-to-back wins, which include two sumptuous second-round TKOs against Parham Gheirati and Dmitrii Kovtun.
Next, he locks horns with fellow knockout merchant, Abdulla Dayakaev, in a bantamweight Muay Thai firefight inside Bangkok’s Lumpinee Stadium next Friday, Jan. 23.

Nong-O Hama, who carved the most successful world title chapter in the promotion’s history during his run in bantamweight, is confident that should Rambolek oust Dayakaev next week, it’ll be hard for the ONE matchmakers not to include him in the world title picture.
“If he wins this fight, Rambolek definitely earns his spot in that conversation. Facing Nabil right now is a tall order because Nabil is on fire, but in the world of Muay Thai, anything can happen,” the 39-year-old told ONE Championship.
At present, Nabil Anane reigns as the ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world champion.
ONE Fight Night 39: Rambolek vs. Dayakaev will broadcast live in U.S. primetime and will be available to active Amazon Prime Video subscribers in the United States and Canada for free.
Nong-O speaks about the legacy he wants to leave behind once he calls it a day
In a separate interview with the world’s largest martial arts organization, Nong-O touched on how he’d like to be remembered once he draws the curtain on his legendary career.
“I would like the world to remember me as a fighter — a fighter who works hard, who is determined, despite his age,” the former ONE world champion shared.
Despite the post-retirement talk, the Thai striking icon, however, warned that his fight career is far from over. Nong-O desires to have another run at 26 pounds of gold in the organization.
