Pioneer Baseball League introduces Long Beach Coast – SportsLogos.Net News

A new independent baseball team in Long Beach, California, pays tribute to its hometown’s defining natural feature with a straightforward nickname: The Coast. The text-based brand is meant to encompass Long Beach’s broad spectrum of natural and cultural heritage.

“Few cities embody duality as Long Beach does,” the team said in a statement. “Eleven miles of coastline tie together the West Side and East Side—where ocean meets concrete, hustle meets chill, and old-school roots meet new-school energy. The Long Beach Coast celebrates the connective thread that runs through every part of the city.”

The identity was created by Los Angeles-based designer Francisco Reyes, Jr., AKA Never Made, whose portfolio includes work with the Los Angeles Clippers and LA Kings.

Along with its primary identity, the Coast unveiled an alternate brand, The Regulators, in a video featuring Long Beach native, rapper, and record producer Warren G, who is a part owner of the team.

“Long Beach has always set its own tone and had its own swagger,” said Warren G, whose hits include the 1994 song “Regulate” (with Nate Dogg). “This baseball team, the Coast, represents the heart of the city—but the Regulators legacy will always be part of Long Beach culture. It’s respect for where we’ve been and excitement for where we’re going.”

The introduction of the Coast continues the Pioneer Baseball League’s westward shift. Long Beach will join three other California-based teams in the league, including the Oakland Ballers, Yuba-Sutter High Wheelers, and Modesto Roadsters, along with four in Montana (Glacier Range Riders, Missoula PaddleHeads, Great Falls Voyagers, and Billings Mustangs), two in Idaho (Boise Hawks and Idaho Falls Chukars), and one in Utah (Ogden Raptors).

The Coast will make their debut when the Pioneer League season begins May 19, 2026.
