Top seeds Carlos Alcaraz and Aryna Sabalenka made no mistakes in their opening rounds. Alcaraz edged past Adam Walton in straight sets, and Sabalenka brushed aside Tiantsoa Sarah Rajaonah, 6-4, 6-1.

Meanwhile, Emma Navarro and Flavio Cobolli were among the big names to be eliminated in the first round. Navarro was stunned by Magda Linette in three, and Cobolli succumbed to a disappointing loss against Arthur Fery, 7-6(1), 6-4, 6-1.
