AHL’s Providence Bruins Put Patriotic Twist on ’90s Favorite to Honor Military – SportsLogos.Net News

The American Hockey League’s Providence Bruins are putting a patriotic twist on one of their parent club’s fan-favorite jerseys from the 1990s to honor military personnel this weekend.

The P-Bruins are hosting a pair of Military Appreciation Weekend games on Friday, January 23, against the Belleville Senators and Sunday, January 25, against the Toronto Marlies. For both games, they’ll wear what they’re calling their “Red, White and Pooh” jerseys, which blend the third jerseys of their NHL parent club, the Boston Bruins, from 1995 to 2006 (and revived for the Reverse Retro 2.0 program in 2022-23) with the colors of the American flag.

The jerseys have a white base and a version of the Bruins’ “pooh bear” logo recolored in blue and white with a red outline on the front. The shape of the striping from the 1995-2006 jersey remains intact, but the colors have been changed to mostly blue, with white and red in between.

“Red, White and Pooh” styling mixes the striping of the 1980 U.S. Olympic jersey with the iconic Bruins ‘Pooh Bear’ design — all in recognition of those who served their country from 1776 [to] 2026.

The front of the jersey also includes a patch with the logo of sponsor IBEW Local 99 on one side and an American flag patch on the other. Under the flag are the years 1776 and 2006, with a blue star in between.

The shoulders of the jersey feature a patch with a new P-Bruins logo marking the 250th anniversary of the United States. The team’s spoked-P logo is in the center, recolored in blue and white and with a star in the negative space of the P. Around that is a blue roundel and white and red outlines. “E PLURIBUS UNUM” (“Out of many, one”) is written out in the top half of the roundel and “CELEBRATING 250” in the bottom half. Red stars separate the lines of text.

Along with the jerseys, the Military Appreciation Weekend games will also feature special recognitions of service members and military-inspired game presentations and music.

Both games take place at the Amica Mutual Pavilion in Providence. Friday’s game against Belleville starts at 7:05 p.m. ET, while puck drop for Sunday’s game against Toronto is at 1:05 p.m. ET.
