Final Fantasy XIV is gearing up for some server downtime on January 26, 2026, in order to prepare for patch 7.41. While not a major patch, it will feature some important updates, especially if you’re trying to craft/gather with the latest gear, or just want to kill enemies just a bit easier. As a part of the patch 7.4X series, it offers a few important features, but likely little in the way of balance adjustments.
We will just have to wait and see if there’s a major patch notes drop, but for now, we know the most important things coming with the server downtime in Final Fantasy XIV, and how long it’s expected to last. Here’s everything you need to know.
Final Fantasy XIV server downtime on January 26 sets up patch 7.41
Final Fantasy XIV’s server downtime on January 26, 2026 will begin at 8 pm PST This isn’t a huge patch in terms of content, but it does offer a few worthwhile additions to the game. Here’s when the downtime will begin, depending on your region:

Start Time
- United States and South America: 8 pm PST / 9 pm MST / 10 pm CST / 11 pm EST / 1 am BRT (January 27)
- Europe: 4 am GMT / 4 am UTC / 5 am CEST / 6 am EET (January 27)
- Africa: 6 am SAST
- Asia: 8 am GST / 9:30 IST / 12 pm PHT / 10 pm CST / 1 pm JST (January 27)
- Australia: 3 pm AEDT / 5 pm NZDT (January 27)
In addition to the game being down, Home World Transfer Services, Character Renaming Services, and Item Code/Gift Code Entry will also be unavailable, so make sure you sort all of that out beforehand, or take care of it after the patch is dropped.
When is the Final Fantasy XIV server downtime scheduled to end?
Final Fantasy XIV’s scheduled server downtime is currently scheduled to end at 2 am PST, bringing with a few new bits of content for players to explore. Patch 7.41 will add the next phase of the Phantom Weapons (Relic Weapons), and will send us to speak with Gerolt again.
Hopefully it’s not a horrible grind, but when we know exactly what it entails, we will update you accordingly as we have with all the other phases of these powerful combat tools. As long as it doesn’t require more demiatma grinding, it should be fine.
In addition, we’ll be seeing an expansion of the Cosmic Exploration gameplay, going to the ruined star of Oizys. Cosmic Exploration is fantastic, if you’re trying to level up your crafters and gatherers.
After the Final Fantasy XIV server downtime ends, you’ll also be able to work on the next phase of your Cosmic Tools for crafting/gathering. It’s not the end of this patch cycle, either, with patch 7.45 adding more content, in particular, to the Gold Saucer.
