Melodies of Peace: Hexi in Where Winds Meet is an Exploration Quest that you can find while exploring the Jade Gate Pass in Hexi. You meet a man lying on the ground in the desert and help him catch a Shadowfin. It is a very simple and short mission that unlocks the Oddity Exchange in Hexi. Additionally, completing the quest will give you several in-game rewards, including Echo Jades and Coins.

How to start the Melodies of Peace: Hexi quest
While coming to Karez for the first time after unlocking the Jade Gate Pass, you can find a man named Qi Xian lying on the ground not too far away from the Boundary Stone. Speak with the NPC to start the Melodies of Peace: Hexi quest in Where Winds Meet.

Ask Qi Xian
The NPC will tell you that he’s looking for Shadowfin, spoken of in the scriptures. These are also one of Hexi’s Oddities. Next, Qi Xian will tell you how to catch a Shadowfin using a great stone.
Try to catch Shadowfin
Go to the nearby Shadowfin challenge spot. To complete the challenge, you must use the Cosmic Reversal skill on the stone and restore it right when the Shadowfin is about to pass through it. Remember that the reversal skill only works for a couple of seconds, so you’ll have to time it right.
Once the Shadowfin crashes into the stone, it will reveal itself, and you can collect it. On a related note, if the Shadowfin doesn’t follow the path crossing the stone, you can stand on the other paths and block its way to force it to go to the stone’s location.

Talk to Qi Xian and return to the painting shed
Speak with Qi Xian after capturing the Shadowfin, and he’ll ask you to meet at the painting shed. Follow the quest navigation and head to the marked location. Next, talk to the NPC again and give him the Oddity. This will also unlock The Music of Kaipeng I, slightly increasing your Max HP, and conclude the Melodies of Peace: Hexi quest in Where Winds Meet.
