The Cleveland Browns continue their search for a new coach after firing Kevin Stefanski at the end of the regular season earlier this month.
The Browns faced a minor setback on Sunday after NFL insider Adam Schefter reported that Jacksonville Jaguars offensive coordinator Grant Udinski has withdrawn his name from the coaching role. Schefter wrote on X:
Thanks for the submission!
“Jaguars OC Grant Udinski has informed the Browns that he is removing himself from consideration for their HC position, per a source. Udinski has a new deal in place with Jacksonville that will bump his pay for next season, but the Jaguars are allowing him to continue pursuing the Bills’ HC job. If Udinski doesn’t get the Buffalo job, he will be back as the Jaguars’ OC.”

“Sounds like he found out he wasn’t getting the job,” Rizzo said.
While Udinski was one of the finalists for the role, Rizzo feels that the Browns conducting an in-person interview with Los Angeles ams passing game coordinator Nate Scheelhaase outlines their inclination towards him.
“If the Browns are in LA to interview Scheelhaase, that told me that they are very very serious about that guy,” Rizzo said.

Browns reportedly down to Jim Schwartz & Nate Scheelhaase for HC role
Apart from Grant Udinski and Nate Scheelhaase the Browns have been strongly linked with their defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz, former Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator Todd Monken and Washington Commanders run game coordinator Anthony Lynn for the coaching role.
However, Udinski, Scheelhaase and Schwartz were considered the finalists for the job before the Jaguars OC pulled his name from contention.
