Fargo baseball crew to play as Woodchippers, don’tcha know – SportsLogos.Net News

The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks, a collegiate summer level team in the Northwoods League, will pay tribute to the movie that made their hometown famous with an alternate identity in 2026. The RedHawks will play five games as the Woodchippers, a reference to the grisly murder scene in the Coen brothers’ 1996 classic, Fargo.

The primary logo features an anthropomorphic woodchipper character grinding up a baseball player, just as the woodchipper ground up most of Carl Showalter in the movie. A series of alternate marks includes a baseball wearing an earflap hunting cap, a wood grain word mark, and a hazard sign that you might see on a woodchipper. (For serious fans, the actual woodchipper from the movie is on display at a visitor center in Fargo, North Dakota.)

The suite of logos was created by Worthen Design, the firm responsible for such other Northwoods League brands as the Richmond Flying Mummies, Minot Hot Tots, and Missouri Motor Boaters.

And while there’s more to life than a little money, you know, the RedHawks will of course have merch available on their team store, and they will auction game-worn jerseys throughout the season.

The Woodchippers will play five times in 2026: June 12, July 10, July 22, August 11, and August 29.
