WWE RAW this past week had a rather anti-climactic ending. Fans finally got to witness AJ Styles and CM Punk share the ring in the main event of the show. However, it was ruined by Finn Balor.
The Judgment Day member hit Punk with a corner dropkick before executing the same move to drive him through the barricade. Balor ended his attack by hitting the Coup de Grace three times on the world champion.
Thanks for the submission!
On Instagram, Punk posted a photo to his story from the gym with AJ Styles and reacted to Balor’s attack for the first time. The Second City Saint claimed that he had Styles beat before The Judgment Day member interfered.
“Inspiring the next generation and myself at the same time. Phenomenal! (I’d have beat him if stupid Finn didn’t involve himself)” Punk wrote.

CM Punk shares his thoughts on AJ Styles retiring from WWE
AJ Styles is set to put his career on the line against Gunther at the Royal Rumble Premium Live Event this weekend. After the events of RAW this past week, CM Punk was asked about The Phenomenal One’s match with Gunther in a backstage interview.
“I’ve been in the ring with Gunther, and I can, without ego, say I beat Gunther. But I don’t feel like I beat him, I feel like I survived. So for AJ to be able to pull this out, I don’t know. The stakes are just too high. I don’t like it, and I don’t like to think about it. We just saw John Cena retire, and it’s hard to fathom that in a two-month span, we’re losing John Cena and AJ Styles,” he said.
It remains to be seen whether Styles can defeat Gunther and continue in WWE, or whether the Career Killer will add another name to his list.
